mashaALLAH - you have outdone yourself LilSis. But if you wanted to talk abt doublestandards we could talk abt yrself aswell. We're all part of the same hypocricy.
If I remember correctly- you yourself have confessed to not reading fajr salaah regularly on time? Isnt that hypocricy aswell?
And yes - SHAVING is haraam. My condemning shaving is a good act, my other acts were wrong. Just because one aspect of me is bad - doesnt mean that I should stop on the good.
Every son of Adam alayhis salaam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent.
Tbh the opinions of certain ppl arent worth much - neither their scholars nor their ustaads are worth the dust on the earth.

There are certain techniques you can use to earse/block certain memories one of which is hypnotism..... which is mainly used by quacks but has had some results as the 'power of suggestion'.
Or you could try a neuralizer

The neuralizer is a tool used to erase and alter people's memories. The neuralizer has four major dials to set the duration of time erased in the spectator's memory. Each dial corresponds to minutes, weeks, months and years. Once the neuralizer has flashed there is a window of around 30 seconds in which an official can verbally tell the spectator what they have missed. Therefore, in doing this they can set up a false memory of what happened in the time that was erased.
Or you could try the head banging on a wall thing... induce amnesia or something

Med you can't suppress your memories and you won't suppress your memories. God decided what experiences people are going to have in your life, and he did so for a reason it's not up to us to turn away from that. If a person is concerned that it will continually pop up and irritate them or if they are concerned they will make a poor decision as a result they should avoid whatever is bringing this memory into focus continually.

oh don't try to be all coy about it Med, for pete's sake. people here are not idiots, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what you were referring to, if you don't want people to refer to ur personal issues, don't bring them up in the first place. i am sick of this. go see a shrink if you're so concerned about it.

Okay seeing as I've basically admitted to being a girlholic alcoholic hypocrite elitist angry abusive slug and nobody has ever brought it up as an argument against me I can hardly agree with that.
Med wasn't talking about himself (as far as we know) he was asking a question, why is everybody assuming it pertains to him?
Why is that any of our business.... the guy asked a question either answer it or drop it - and that goes for everyone.

That's totally out of line - he asked a question. If you think it's some kind of personal issue then at least be conscious of the fact that he took steps to keep it anonymous and that was for a reason. If you're sick of what you think is going on then work it out in private - like an adult, not a gossiping child. I don't particularly care how many of yall like Med, you have no right to embarrass him with your speculatory gossip. I don't know if this is some vindictive need to embarass him or if you just are celebrating that you "figured it out" but bare in mind it's all speculation, and it's not your position to determine what he "really meant" in asking his question.
This forum is out of line on this issue. All yall from MS to Hayder to Dust are shaming yourselves with this display, stop it.

yes Dave, he kept it as an anonymous, general question and i treated it as such right up until the following post:
Is there a way of erasing or alterring things which trigger a memory - so if white musk reminds of x - can we consciously associate the musk with y? Can that be done?
And what if these memories or triggers are constant and surround a person and are quite stressful and inescapable. Would talking to a shrink stop them?
as i said it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what he was referring to, if he was really so keen to keep it anonymous he would have used a different example.
i have nothing personal against Med, and i think i made this clear in the thread regarding him being unbanned. however in such instances which involve other members and their integrity, i do not appreciate him being so blatant about it, and then trying to cover it all up with a coy remark. that is, imo, immature and attention-seeking behaviour.

If you bothered to open your eyes "Dust" then you woulda noticed that I firstly referred to Quran recitation, then white musk, then drinking tea at 1am. If you wanna be so concerned abt whoever it is then thats your look-out.

Mods this thread needs to be closed.

But you get my point. Is there a way of erasing or alterring things which trigger a memory - so if white musk reminds of x - can we consciously associate the musk with y? Can that be done?

how to suppress ur memories? Now THATβS a good question π
it is impossible to suppress ur memories-uβll be haunted by the beautiful fragrance of white musk for the rest of ur life
ur life will be full of anguish and misery and itβll be on ur mind till the day u die π’
the more u try to forget the beautiful βwhite muskβ the more-white Musk will be on ur mind
every sin comes with a consequence
u have to patiently suffer for the rest of ur life cos of ur sinful actions
learn frm ur mistakes and from now on think twice before condemning/cursing and looking down at those without a beard
cos u may end up falling into sin urself again and will be the ridicule of every registered member on the revival who is a witness to ur blatent double stanrads
