Wow. 1-0 against the mighty Paraguay and the fans are celebrating like they've won the tournament. A reality check is needed. Yes ok it was hot etc but the 2nd half performance was crap.

I don't support England, in fact I can't wait for them to get knocked out. I remember supporting Brazil against them last world cup and when France pipped them in the first match of Euro 2004. That was funny. Reasons why I dont support them -

They go OVERBOARD!!! The media, the fans, etc etc. When they win its everywhere and they never shut up about it. OK they've a right to revel in their sucess but keep it in perspective.

IF they win this world cup we'll NEVER hear the last of it. 1966! Let it go that was donkeys years ago for God's sake! Pakistan won the cricket world cup in 1992 but thats history now, we've let go!

They are the best at making excuses when they lose. If there was a world cup for making excuses, they'd win every time!

The pre-tournament hype and arrogance is unbelievable, so cocky. We're gonna do this, we're gonna do that. In Rooney they have an excellent striker but in Sven they have a coach who doesnt really know what he's doing.

Most asians I know dont support england and no one in my family does. Here's to football coming home...... early. :D
EXACTLY

thats precisely what i think, and why i never pledge my support to in england in football

but that doesnt mean im racist, not proud to be brit etc, its pure sporting reasons.

as for england, this is gonna be fun to watch....i'll blame sven right now, he's holding back great potential for england! ๐Ÿ˜‚

my heart is with brazil, but im also hoping the dutch canwin their 1st world cup, or the argies can get thier 3rd, or Italy put the match fixing scandals behind them! never been big on italy, but they are growing on me.

wouldnt it be fun if england, usa and iran were in the same group? ๐Ÿ˜‚

ed...im dissapointed, tut tut tut

Sirus โ€” Mon, 12 Jun 2006 - 03:59

quite surprisingly, and i know none of you will believe me...

but i hant watched a single match in full yet

the most i have seen was todays Iran v Mexico - and even then it was only the forst half

Damn the iranians, they were playing well but made 2 huge mistakes!!

MuslimBro โ€” Mon, 12 Jun 2006 - 04:04

President Ahmadinejad said he would have gone to Germany and seen Iran playing if they went through to the next round.

Would have loved to see that happen.

Sirus โ€” Mon, 12 Jun 2006 - 04:11

why doesnt he go watch them now, talk about supporting your country, the one u lead!!

well supposing they do get to second roud....and then they win the quarter final....there's a chance they can play USA!!

Exquisite โ€” Wed, 14 Jun 2006 - 11:07

the group stage are so dry i thot i get into the game whole heartedly but im so disappointed abt the lack of quality france drew against the swiss n brazil won 1-0 with croatia i knw i said it aint abt quality but you do wanna see some class in it now im waiting for the semis and quarter and the finals

The Great 100 โ€” Thu, 15 Jun 2006 - 10:32

We're gonna win the World Cup!!!!!! We're gonna top the group, whoop Poland, scrape past Portugal, thoroughly acquit ourselves against Brazil and walk all over Germany on their home soil. For the rest of the decade we will never have an excuse to feel down as long as we stick to football and sunny days.

Angel โ€” Thu, 15 Jun 2006 - 16:38

I support brazil, and they will win ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I aint a fan of the england team, would have loved to cheer scotland on but they are just an embarasin team

Beast โ€” Fri, 16 Jun 2006 - 15:58

Argentina did good today.

By far the best match of the tournament so far and the only one I've missed. ๐Ÿ™

Dave, will you be watching Team USA have its ass handed to it by the Italians this afternoon?

Dave โ€” Sat, 17 Jun 2006 - 18:14
Dave, will you be watching Team USA have its behind handed to it by the Italians this afternoon?
lol yea its on at about 3. I'm not following the US team though they are a waste of time, I'm cheering for Mexico.

England SUCKS, you guys are so unbelievably overrated (by yourselves) it scares me; and ya know Beckham? Not all that impressive, if he wasn't a pretty boy rockstar and British (since all the seriously talented players in the British league aren't British) you wouldn't hear HARDLY so much about him.

Could it be be ed'....hasn't he got the same powers as you?

credit to USA, 2 players sent off and managed to hold on to a 1-1 draw!

what a match between italy and USA today, 3 sent off, crazy own goal, nasty challenges....add that to the Ghana team waaaaaasting Czech who are no2 in world rankings....!!

BRAZIL 2MRW 8)
Brasil were pretty lame today.

Very disappointing.

Ronaldo should be dumped immediately.

I am supporting Hrvatska this World Cup.

In the (highly likely) event that they are knocked out I will transfer my allegiance to England.

Come on England!

You โ€” Sun, 18 Jun 2006 - 19:41

I had to google what team that was!

(Croatia)

latifah โ€” Sun, 18 Jun 2006 - 19:49

Lol, well done Admin!

I'll have you all speaking my language before too long. (Not just the swearing  )

Hrvatska are quite boring too watch so I'm going off them rapidly.

It's England all the way. Or maybe Argentina. Or Spain. Or Holland.

You โ€” Sun, 18 Jun 2006 - 20:05

SO far, no team has totally dominated.

Well I think Argentina has, but I have not watched them.

Holland always underperform.

If you look at the four teams that could possibly go far, I would say Brazil and Argentina aswell as two from Germany, czech Republic, England and Italy.

Now you can never write out the germans.
Argetina have a good record against Brazil, and England have a good record against Argentina. Brazil have a good record against England. (not sure if they can all meet... I have basically stayed away.)

I love supporting the underdog, so I am waiting for an unlikely team to go on the run. Last time I enjoyed the South korea 'Willtheyy/Won't they' circus.

But overall match quality wise, I prefer domestic football over international stuff.
