Well this tiresome subject is once again being raised by desperate Tony (along with animal experiments and nuclear power). Seems like there's something new every day.
What do you all think regarding this issue.
My personal thoughts are that culture is a product of society. He's portraying it as some ideology that people should be following.
"Britishness" has never been particularly popular except among the middle and upper classes of the imperial era and during the world wars.
Plus it seems a bit rich for him to be promoting Britishness while making Britain a province of Europe.

Maybe this is a generalisation based on personal experience, but one thing that’s always impressed me about British Culture is the willingness to help others.
I have no problem with asking someone for directions when I’m lost, I’ve always found that people are more than willing to help…..once when I had newly passed I got stuck in a bay and couldn’t get out, I gave my keys to a total stranger who drove the car out of the tight spot for me….today I was having problems opening my tank at the petrol station and someone helped me out.
And when it comes to the elderly, disabled people and kids…people really go out of their way to help them out.

alright love...that reminds me of the other day. It was a Pakistani taxi driver he said thank you lub. I was kinder shocked, didn't sound right coming from him loooooool. I was thinking lub you should be calling me sister 😂

I've also heard that. Maybe he was trying to 'integrate' with British culture. I also think it's an asian thing that some can't pronounce the 'V' properly so they say bideo instead of video. Did you say anything back when he said that?

cheeky so n' so lol! He was an old man, i'm not that old he should say sister or Madam, i like polite forms of address . When I was in the US everyone addressed me as Ma'am in retail outlets, i admit i loved it lol. Customer services over here..yeah wht u want? ok fanks :roll:

I kinda like this place you know......no matter where i go, when i come back oldham...it feels good. the people are jus nicer i guess, i dont like manchester people that much
and it is kinda pleasant, a lot of regeneration work, a lot of plans for oldham. Werneth is better than coppice, you gotta admit Admin/Seraph, its got Sabri Stores 😂

p.s. in the 16 years we have had our shop, Alhamdulillah there hasnt been any trouble....in the 16 years living in this area of oldham, again no trouble, no problems, no breaks in. Zilch. Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah swt of course
its not a ghetto, people jus think it is and make it out to be one
