Love

Angel

Love..how can one define it? What kinds of love are there, ie worldy love, true love etc?

I personally believe that one has different kinds of love for their parents/siblings,partners..but what about the love for Allah (swt) and the Holy Prophet (saw), isn't this love pure and true love as there are no conditions or limit from the love we receive from Allah (swt) and the Holy Prophet (saw).

I have heard Allah (swt) has divided love into 100 parts of which 1/100 is for the people of this world for each other and 99/100 is Allah’s (swt) love for his people! Doesn’t that alone show how high and true this kind of love is and that this worldly love is something small and will cease to exist once we die???

Love has its limitations and when it exceeds these limitations it is described as extreme love/passionate devotions (Ishq).

This extreme love is manifested in the one who loves absolutely everything to do with his beloved.

He loves the street in which his beloved resides; he loves the dogs that roam in his beloved street. He is compelled to love the friends of his beloved, the beloveds of his beloved….and everything/anyone who has any sort of connection with his beloved.

This extreme love was manifested in Hadrat Awais Karni (ra) who broke all his teeth just because he had heard that one tooth of His leader had broke in the battle of Uhud.

Extreme love was manifested in the ones who collected the hair, sweat and fingernails of their Leader (saw).

We all claim to love someone or another, some may even go as far as claiming that their love is extreme…but has anyone ever collected/saved the hair/sweat of the one they claim that they’re extremely in love with?

Some people claim that Islam has no place for extreme love. However when one possesses limited love for their beloved they are ready to give up their wealth and happiness, on the other hand when one possesses extreme love for their Lord they are ready to give up their lives.

This sacrifice is not possible for those whose love is within limits.

Wasalaam[/quote]

i feel that such 'extreme love' does exist in Islam, but it is reserved only for Allah (s.w.t) and the Prophet (s.a.w).

Seraphim — Sun, 3 Jul 2005 - 13:27

Knowledge of the person whom you love, and obediance to their will.

hhmm interesting, but not surprising.

To love someone and not know anything about them would seem foolish, as that would suggest your not in love with them but 'your' mental image of them.

I think such extreme love can also be for those who love Allah (swt).

You know, that love that exists between two people for the sake of Allah (swt).

The love that one possesses for another simply and only because their company increases ones love for Allah (swt) and increases their desire to please Him (swt).

The love that blesses one with His shade on the Day of Judgment, as a mark of distinction and honour....

"Extreme love" I think can also be present between such people.

Would one lover bow before another to please them?

To show our love, we bow to God to please Him.

Yet, it is alledged that He does not allow a man to bow to his beloved wife if she get upset ?

Is that a Contradiction ?

Does He not want men to TRULY love their wives ?

The love between Allah and His servants is not comparable to that which exists between human beings - Allah loves His creation 70 times more than a mother loves her child, so ofcourse we should bow to Him (alone)....

Buckari (Volume 1, Book 2, Number 15)

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith:

1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else.

2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake.

3. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire."

Once Prophet Musa (AS) asked Allah (swt), how he could ever know if He (swt) loved him.

Allah (swt) told him to look in his own heart and if there he found love for Allah (swt) then this meant that Allah (swt) loved him too.

This shows that love for the Almighty surpasses love for other humans.

This is because if one loves another, one will not receive a guarantee that the beloved loves him/her too.

However in the case of love for the Almighty, love is always guaranteed.

Asiya.

Ocean is water. So is a drop of water. No difference in nature. H2 O.

Love is love. The AMOUNT of love is another matter.

It is not a DIFFERENT love with which a man loves a woman.

Man might love God with greater quantity of love, but it will still be the SAME love.

Dumb girl !!

if there is no "nature" of love, then y is the relationship of a man with his wife so different to the relationship with his mother? he loves them both equally, but it is the NATURE of love that is different.

resorting to personal insults just shows u dont have faith in your own argument... its not as if your going to badger me into agreeing, so why bother?

Every body here knows who is a homosexual!! It is you!! . Do you know why?. coz you've been crying underneath your woman all the way down. My wife, my wife, my wife and i am mouse mouse mouse!! which kind of real man would want to discuss about the wife in-front of gentlemen!!. Believe me, we know people like you who would mention about their wives in every little things and do you know what they are!!. Gays!! . Because they can not satisfy their women they have to obey them. These types of men can't make it every night and even when they make it it's like in and out within no time. The woman would desire more but unfortunately mouse man don't have to offer her!!.

OK saying things without action is not good enough, let's put a demo, I'll get mouse man one of my girlfriends and let him get me his woman then let the women tell the truth!!. How about this mouse man!! Wouldn't this be something!! Let's see who they will call a real barbarian type!! :cool

It's a very unpleasant cultural thingy mocking a man who believes in equality of parents and listening to one's wife. If such men are mice then what do you respect? Apes? Hawks? Bacterial Scum? Oh, 'warriors'. I see a few of those about and they're a bigger, more serious problem than the mice. The truth is most men are just dicks, most of the time, and to watch men argue knowing you're probably going to marry one sometime must be very depressing for the beauties on this forum.

I hate to agree with him but the above ^^ is very true.

But last time i checked, we're not in Pakistan.

People resort to cussing coz they're weak and cant come up with a better arguement. Its what politicans do; if they cant win a debate by logic they cuss the other side.

Perhaps it is 'inter-galactic' as yu said.

But it has no place in a debate.

It carries no point across other than ignorance.

You above all else should know that.
