'A book holds a house of gold'

I have a measly 6 weeks holiday this year during which I have to…

1-Revise and sit an Audit for English, Maths, Science and ICT (this is incredibly hard)

2-Revise and sit a Skills Test in English, Maths and Science (similar to the above)

3-Study PGCE English throughout the summer.

4-Co-Manage and teach in an Islamic Summer school for 5 weeks.

5-Try to fit in employment somewhere there too….

I really, really want to fit in travel sometime in my summer too....one learns so much when they travel.

wow MS i feel like such a lazy person Cray 2

I am pretty much busy for the next month, first have to get exams over and done with then will be busy with sis's wedin, after june in the second week i'll be free. I would love to go holiday but i think after the weddin i'll pretty much be broke!

I have had my holiday this summer in Pak but what I would love to have gone to Ummrah this year but doubt its going to happen. However exception of Saudia arabia for ummrah i dont think i wana go to any hot country, i cant hack it!

Today in Scot its a lovely weather but the damn wasps are everywhere which is why i hate warm weather!

Weddings are VERY time consumin...esp when its family.

Also, you've been on holiday and have exams so you deserve a lazy summer.

I too hate the heat...I cant sleep at night and end up fighting with my sister all night.

I don't think that will happen, i need to work as i am gona be skint coz i gota get sis a nice prezzie for wedin plus getin things here and there for the wedin add up and i dont wana burden my parents as they have too much wedin costs on their heads as it is.

I guess i can work part-time just to earn some cash. Actually i will kinda have a holiday - Al-Hidayah Camp inshallah.

my summer will be a snooz

if i can be bothered i might enrol into a sewing class and learn how to sew

So have you learnt how to sew?

I did enrol in classes and i nearly had the hang of it but then gave up as the woman teaching was more into gossip than actually teaching others how to sew. Mum's always going on bout how its good to learn etc i knw it is but i dont have the patience to learn some things. If i did i could have got my sis to teach me who knows how to sew very good but i guess its not somethin i am passionate bout, but would want to learn in future - its good if you want to make your own designs for clothing.

I might learn cooking over summer coz i cant cook to save myself! Doubt it will happen, summer weather makes you lazy and thats coming from someone who stays in scot (its not even that warm here in summer!).

I might get part time job helpin out the youth with summer activities.

What else can you do in summer apart from going on holiday?

So MS is really going to fit all that in 6weeks? If you want to make activities up at least be realistic about them.

Its called hard work and amnition.

I could not do all that in 6 years though.

Far too lazy, and lacking in ambition.

6 weeks is plenty of time if you are motivated. If you are not motivated, no amount of time will ever be enough.

And how many real people in their 20's do you know that can manage all that in 6weeks?

I cannot see which bit you are striuggling to accept she will be able to do.

Two items are revision. Here it could be 2 hours, 2 weeks or 2months.

One item is something that will not need to be finished opver summer (I think.. the PGCE... It will continue after summer I assume...).

One is about effort (look for a job), and the final is about sparing some time.

Manageable.

So I cannot see why you do not think it possible? any task in particular you think is particularly dificult?

I see it as a motivation issue really, not an issue of accomplishments/skill

Actually at that age one should be active with a fresh and lively attitute so it can be done, i am sure MS will do great, if that was me i know i wouldn't be able to do it.

It's all about committment.

Asalaamu alaikum,

If Allah puts barakah in one's time and this time is used wisely, it IS possible to accomplish a lot in a short period of time.

Abu Bakr (ra) used to keep fast, attend a funeral procession, give food to the needy, and visit a sick person and he did all these acts in one day. Not only that, they were done before the time of fajr salaah. This shows that it is possible to do a lot within a short time if Allah wills and if one has the right intention and strives hard.

As already mentioned, how much one can achieve is dependent on how motivated one is.

Ramz, your belief in what I can or can’t do will not increase/decrease the activities that I'm involved in.

Everyone’s different. Inactivity does not suit me.

i don't know anyone else in their 20's with such a timetable

but i know BEAR women in their 30/40's who do all of the above and MORE

even with a husband, house and kids to look after

like i said before-dont measure us all by ur standards

Those will a strong will and determination can achieve many things despite the mockery of doubters.

Good luck Muslim Sis, you can do it.

Girls are brilliant at multi tasking. You know a boy would moan and complain non stop about such a task load. Wink

Lol-Thanks Sis.

It is feasible...and its not like I do anything else. I have a very sad social life. :?

Linking on to what Sis Amatullah said...Imam Hanifa used to read the entire Qur’an once a day. He spent 40 years reading his Fajr prayer with the same Wudhu as his Isha prayer.

A typical day of his would consist of him seeing to his silk trade from Fajr to Zuhr, from Zuhr to Asr he used to teach, from Asr to Magrib he used to see to the needs of the community, i.e. attend funerals, visit the sick, solve people’s problems etc and from Magrib to Isha he used to have some time to himself/family and then from Isha to Fajr he used to devote himself Allah (swt).

Now THATS what you call a full on timetable.

Good luck in managing your imaginary summer school in your imaginary life whilst doing your imaginary activities at the same time.

Ramz, are you fictional or a real person?

Just wondering.

she is an alter ego.

do u mind naming n shaming PLEASE?

or confirm gender at least

some secret posts from the girls only thread wer deleted by a mod today cos they were exposed to the public forum

No, not that type of alter ego. No 'other' forum personality.

Forum posts are inconsequential (used that word twice in two days now. Its becoming my favourite word... but back on topic:). They say more about you than the other person.

She is her alterego.
