Are people down South more moody, reserved and less willing to help compared to the people who live up North?
Maybe this is a gross generalisation…but this is what I’ve found…whenever I go up North, on the whole the people I encounter on the Bus, in town, in the Mosques are on the whole a LOT more friendly, warm, nice and smiley..
Like, if I was to visit an Islamic programme in London, you’ll see lots of little groups….and people aren’t that willing to break out of their little group and welcome newcomers….ironically, people in the Mosques up North are a lot warmer than the people down South.
Is there something in the water?
It’s really not unusual down South to quickly walk past- ignoring the one screaming lying on the ground in the street…
This may seem like minor things…but why something as basic as smiling (which is considered Saqda) overlooked by so many….even I’m often told to “Cheer up love” by random strangers on the street.
I do however; often try to catch the eye of Muslim sisters….or just nice ladies and say Salaam or smile at them…I also make my moody sister do the same.
But generally speaking…where did this extreme reserved way of behaving come from?
Is this down to people’s nature? You know how some are extroverts and others are introverts? Or is this down to the culture/norm of our society?
Do you smile at strangers on street?
If you’ve made something special…or it’s a special time of the year, do you send over a plate of food to your neighbours (regardless of their faith?)
Do you give up your seat on trains/buses?
Are you the first to help a stranger in need…or do you wait for someone else to help them out?
Do you strike up conversations with strangers on the bus…or if asked a question, do you continue the conversation?
Do you consider it important to do voluntary community work?
How patient are you as a driver? If a learner is in front of you…do you go crazy and overtake, do you wait patiently if he/she stalls?
Would you describe yourself as a moody, reserved individual or a sociable, friendly guy/girl?

Oldhams the best? U stoned? Oldhams the boringest place ever. thers nuffin to do in oldham, thas y u always go to Manchester.
Altho, after a day in Manchester, its good to come home to Oldham, and chillaxe for a whizzile, then bck to the city in the good ol' mornin.
I like the city life, but i like the area where i live, cuz its so close to the city, its perfect.
Personally I hate the countryside, it drives me crazy bein there for long. Why would u wna hear the bird churpin in the mornin, its dam annoyin.
As for London, it can b the gayest place on Earth, or the most fun, depends which cousin im with 😂 . Whenever i go london, my cousins live like an hour apart, if i get stuck in the house with the girls, they take me shoppin with them, make me carry the bags n all, n im not talkin ordinary shoppin, im talkin girly shoppin :oops:

a pint of milk in london cost £1.30 whilst it cost 80p in B'ham last i checked
and house prices in london are astronomical :shock:
a bag of fish n chips here costs £4.90
i cant get over the bargains I find further up north

indeed it was, the first happy slaps origionated in london by 3 black guys, you know the one on the train with the guy sleeping, what a way to wake up :shock:
it then caught on throughout the rest of england via mobile phones bluetooth
i used to catch the infamous number 11 bus to and back from college, bham guys should know what im on about , and i witnessed 2 such 'happy slaps' i would have helped but what can i do against 8 guys and since on both occasions the guys ran like little girls all i could do was make sure i wasnt the next victim, a stare/glare usaully does the trick to would be happy slap villans , you know the kind of stare clint eastwood style

LOL when i saw that, i laffed so hard, let alone my sides, my whole body started hurtin, it was hilarious, then i saw one wher the woman who got slapped started cryin, So its not all funny, its also disgusting. Silly Londoners 😂

1. Mayor ken introduced the congestion charge so when we wna drive through central london we hav to pay £8 before it was £5 n way before that was free
2. the fares on the trains are ludicrous they keep increasing
3. the introduction of oyster cards means every train/tube or bus journey we make we are getting tracked n if you dont want to get tracked you use a normal ticket but then the price is more expensive than using an oyster card.

I agree with the above.
Bus/train fare is outrageous..(it costs £8.20 to buy a one day return ticket at a peak time).
The fast pace of London and the not all that water also contribute to people's moodiness.

i'm always moody cos I'm ALWAYS losing my oyester card
without the card i have to spend 1.50 one way on buses-and i can end up paying 5.50 a day :shock:
and i HATE the traffic of london

Yesterday I was on a tube from Dollis Hill to meet someone in town. At West Hampstead they announced they were closing the line at the next station, Finchley Road, because of a fire further down the line, but I didn't get off because I could get the Metropolitan Line from Finchley Road. They kept us waiting for ages and only when we got to Finchley Road did they announce the Metropolitan Line is out for scheduled repairs. So from Finchley Road I queued for a bus and on the bus it turned out my Oyster was out of credit. I explained that I was already on a tube journey and as the driver was trying to shout to loads of people who were piling into the bus I had to move along and sit down anyway. Then the bus wasn't moving so I went to speak to the driver and he said it was just because of me. Well, it wasn't, but I politely offered to pay and he said no, it is too late, and I was humiliated. So I called him a damned fool, and I shouldn't have but it is very rare for me to get that angry, paid to get on another bus and arranged to have the meeting somewhere closer, 90 minutes late. I picked up a claims form and there is no space for the nature of the complaint. The only way I could complain is to insist the journey was delayed for reasons within their control, but there is nowhere to explain why. I don't need a refund, I want someone to know that I have experienced that. The tfl helpline passed me to a tube helpline that passed me back to a tfl helpline. And something about Ken Livingstone at the end.

Here in Scot u find frendly people who give u smiles of which the majority are the elderly. I think most Scots are friendly, at first glance if someone saw me one wouldn't think that i was friendly but i am...

It took me two hours a few weeks ago to come home from Dollis Hill station.
This district line was messed up so I jumped on the central line. Every train I sat on had some kind of a delay and/or unattended baggage left on it.
Also, the fact that I nearly always sit on the wrong platform and end up travelling the wrong way always adds to my delay getting home whenever I'm travelling via underground.
Trains on the whole are much better than buses, but when trains mess you around it ends up ruining a whole day.

Another reason for why London is King has got to be Hyde Park in the summer.
It’s great fun, especially speaker’s corner where you can see American tourists arguing with Marxists and Muslims over US foreign policy.
I go every sunday when the weather is warm, and then walk down Edgware road for some nice Turkish food. London is the best. 😛

I haven't tried any, though there are quite a few lebonese places in Shepherds Bush where i live.
I really want to try Iranian food I heard there is a great new restaurant somewhere along Edgeware rd. I'm gonna try and find it next time the sun is shining on the weekend. lol i could be waiting some time.

Sultan riding a 40ft elephant through Trafalgar Square
accompanied by a 20ft tall girl. Also an alien rocket landed close by.

I totally agree. Me, I love the fast life, I love the rush, I love trains, huge buildings, coffee shops etc etc
Whenever I visit family in Bolton I'm often bored out of my head...everythings feels SO slow, to me countrysides etc are OK for a short break but I couldnt ever live there.
I find B'ham quite slow too for some reason...although I do like Manchester city it reminds me of London. 😃
