DARK OR LIGHT SKIN?
Why does society prefer light skin? Why do guys go for lighter girls? My family told me to use fair and lovely skin bleaching cream once so that I'd have fairer skin. It worked but I had to stop using it because it made my face break out in spots. When I was younger my mum always told me to keep out of the sun.
My grandmother says that purity is linked to a lighter colour. Even the quran says that the hoors will be white.
Whats wrong with being dark and why do rishte's always prefer their future wife to be fair? I've been rejected for not being "light enough"

Halle Berry and Tyra banks are light skinned black ppl not exactly good examples of black beauty, just goes to reaffirm the idea that white= beauty.
Anyways they're way overrated in their beauty, they are attractive but they're not the best thing since sliced bread.
Naomi is a good example of black beauty even though she's depicted as a such a drama queen.

ok people i just want to say that we have discovered we find some black people good-looking , but all the ones you have mentioned are black and also seen as good looking according to media and society therefore it just proved the fact we have been brainwashed.
This issue is mainly a pakistani problem, but do name some dark asains you find good looking, but if you cant then why is that,
why do people think sri lankans, south indians, dark pakistanis and bangalis are ugly. Whereas iranians, arabs, pathans, fair skinned kashmiris, fair pakistanis + bangalis are mainly percieved as good looking.
because of the british empire rule, western media and evolution/eugenics theories.

Maybe you have been, you said people were giving examples of light-skinned people and when I and others have mentioned dark-skinned people who are good looking you say we are brainwashed by media! :roll:
Everyone has a different defintion of beauty and I think it can be found in all colours be it white/light-brown/dark brown. Its silly to say a certain colour is not pretty because the norm used to be blond hair blue eyes get over the past and move on.

I agree , but this is the problem i was addressing, pakistanis still feel being dark is ugly, it must make dark pakis feel disattified with themselves and discriminated agaisnt, and i sincerely wish people can move on and realise how stupid this is
