1-If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody around does it make a sound?

yes the sound occurs, just no-one hears it. thus we cant prove it, but its common sense a sound will be made.

2-Did the chicken come before the egg?

a stupid question has no answer - they shouldnt be questions in the 1st place. but for the record, the chicken

3-If there’s life after death...Does that mean that there’s death before life?

yes. simple

4-Is the glass half empty or half full?

which glass?

5-If a man says something in the woods and there are no women there, is he still wrong?

u know the question was the other way round. feminists  . if there is no one there, then whilst she is wrong, due to her lack of realisation, she wont know

6-If all those psychics know the winning lottery numbers, why are they all still working?

because they dont

7-Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?

because its in the shape of a drop? or the meteorligists (i think its them) decided they are the terms to be used...plus...if u think how they come down from the sky....rain is like as if its being dropped, and the slowness in the snow makes it look like its falling!

8-What IS the best thing since sliced bread?

toastie

9-Is the omro a man or a mouse?

i can not comment on that one. i know, but i wont say

10-and how old is grampa Admin?

History books in UK only go far as 1066.....before that its the Dark Ages, so we may never really know

I disagree.

Sound is the thing you hear when the bones inside your ear vibrate when reacting to the vibrating ear drum, which has been disturbed by air.

No ear drum means no bones vibrating means no signal to the brain, means no sound!

2-Did the chicken come before the egg?

a stupid question has no answer - they shouldnt be questions in the 1st place. but for the record, the chicken
I had egg for breakfast, and chicken for lunch, the egg surely arrived first! Otherwise I had lunch before breakfast!

ok.. I am not too bored to answer the rest.

Sirus — Fri, 10 Mar 2006 - 00:32

Just Coz YOU didnt hear it, doesnt mean there was no sound

so u tellin me when T-rex beat up next dinosaur, he did it without sound, coz there was no human around to hear it

how do we know his roar then

What Admin is doin is proving frm a scientif point of view, whether its true or not aint a clue. So someone had to be there to hear it IF admin's theory is correct.

You — Fri, 10 Mar 2006 - 01:28

something not someone.

anything that can distinguish sounds.

Otherwise the vibrations are just that. vibrations.

If you wanna disprove me, go on. But just condemning my scientific answer without a counter is not enough.

and the dino argument is fake. What if there was a nuclear explosion in space? would you hear it? no. There would be no sound as a diferent item will be missing. vibrating air.
im definately a glass half full person, im an optimist
To me, it depends on the situation. Most of the times I'm an optimist, a very positive person.

But in certain situations I can be extremely pessimistic.

3-If there’s life after death...Does that mean that there’s death before life?

As this is an Islamic Board, lets put an islamic spin on the answer shall we?

We shall!!

when the foetus is summin like 3 monthes old, an angel comes to it with a soul, and inserts into the foetus 3 things,
1 - The time and place of death
2 - The rizq - amount of money etcthe person will earn in his/her lifetime
3 - Umm, help me sum1 i cnt remember

And then the soul is placed into the foetus, 6 monthes before a child is born. so there is death, before life.

I feel smart now, wait, the feelings gone.............

Islamically there was life before life...you know, in the world of souls when we were with Allah (swt) before we joined our human bodies...

Is the foetus really considered dead before the soul is inserted in it?

Sufi's say that we should "die before we die" I've always found that so fascinating...

U asked bout death b4 life, not life b4 life, but yeh kool.

And, a foetous without a soul, has no life, something which has no life, in my opinion is dead.

Also an interesting thing to mention is that some people think that when you fall asleep, you are in a temporary "death", wen u sleep u not aware of nuffin until u get woken. n then youre back to life. Hence the adverb "death is the cousin of sleep"

This is a hadith….it means to leave the world (practise internal seclusion etc) before you actually leave the world.

It means to kill your desires/wishes/armaan/ego (Nafs)... in other words… pride, envy, hatred, being miserly etc etc should be killed (destroyed) well before you physically die.

2-Did the chicken come before the egg?

a stupid question has no answer - they shouldnt be questions in the 1st place. but for the record, the chicken- i can prove this as a egg cannot be hatched without a chicken so a chicken had to come first

4-Is the glass half empty or half full?

which glass?-its half emty because technically full means whole so something cannot be half full its either full or not full at all

9-Is the omro a man or a mouse?

i can not comment on that one. i know, but i wont say- neither hes a donkey 😛

if you were a vegetarian and animal activist and someone told you
eat this cow or ill shoot it, what will you do to save the cow?

When you feel down, why do people ask what’s up?

In horse racing, why do they award the rider and not the horse?

If insects are so obsessed with bright lights, why don’t they fly off to the sun?

Can you dream of having a dream?

Why do we close doors and windows to reduce noise, considering that sound travels better through solids?

If Pinocchio said, “My nose is about to grow”, what would happen?

Why do ‘a fat chance’ and ‘a slim chance’ mean the same thing?

Why does ‘dyslexia’ have to be so hard to spell?

If you think you’re a hypochondriac, then are you one or not?

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

anyone who answers all questions correctly gets a prize 8)

Well, actually, that is haraam: "Do not kill (or destroy) yourselves, for verily Allah has been to you most Merciful".(4:29)

"When someone blots out creatures by virtue of his realization of Unity [tawhid], blots out this world by virtue of his renunciation [zuhd], and blots out everything else apart from his Lord (Almighty and Glorious is He) by virtue of his longing, that person is completely prepared for righteousness [salah] and success [najah], and he will enjoy the all the blessings of this world and the hereafter. You must experience the mortification of your lower selves, your desires and your devils, before you die. Experience the special death [al-mawt al-khass] before the common death [al-mawt al-'amm]."(Abdel qadir Gillani)

:? nafs does literally mean oneself, a human being, but muslimsis clarified that she was referring to it in the sense of the whisperings in ones mind, the (evil) desires/ego of a person.
