I am currently hacking away on a newsblog for the website.

http://www.therevival.co.uk/newsblog/

It should be ready now.

I have also added a page in the 'Rules/FAQ' section to discuss the Newsblog:

[b]What has been done:[/b]

1. Wordpress has been given a template which looks almost identical the website.
2. The search on the left hand side, if used within the blog will search the blog instead of the whole site through google.
3. Commenting has been disabled.
4.The menu's do now work properly.
5. Add it onto homepage.

[b]Current problems/TODO:[/b]

1. The blog has a separate login from the forums. I have looked into this alot, and it will probably be kept separate. [b]will probably not do[/b]
2. Probably a whole lot more that I have not thought of yet.

[b]Questions[/b]

1. Should comments be allowed? [current decision = no]
2. Any other features that are needed?

The blog is in working order now.

How many items should be shown with content? I currently am showing 3 in the testpage. Is that, or should it be increased? reduced?

Every time I edit my stupid blog thing it kills the page break!!!

Media stuff can be broken down to something else.

All the news will be 'media stuff', so same as uncategorised

Is putting in a page break not as simple as pressing the little page break button after that second paragraph?!

Click where you want the break. Preferably at end of paragraph. Click page break button.

I think I have simplified the 'dashboard'.

Is there anything specifiv that I could simplify?

(I have hardly touched anyone's posts... although I edited Dave's to add links etc...)

One other thing. Ed is saying the newsblog is showing too many items for his liking on the homepage. How many should it show in your opinions?

I have kept just the heading there aswell, as that will motivate me to finish some things I need to do.

I will probably show two titles there.

and I will keep the introducing... for a few days yet...

and then after that I am gonna see if I can get a banner that looks like the announcements banner at the bottom (funnily enough without any announcements underneath it!)

also u shouldnt allow it to take up the whole page

it shud just be in a small box on the right hand side-like the box for the forum showing latest discussions

nah for the time being, let it take up that space on the homepage, and Irf i think we should leave the 'Introducing...' title for atleast a week yet - we need to publicise this newsblog so that ppl are actually made aware of it and possibly even use it... 🙂
