U haven't see how they live life in pakistan. Because they have no real concept of work there. It much more chill out, they like the carribean in the Malibu ads, but they seem to complain alot as well. But most of the work on the land they own and just work to survive, which is how it should be really, well atleast in my area it is. I genralising, but alot of peopel are like that. It also what alot of them complain about when they come here, that and the weather. I just think here in England, our concept on entertainment, consist on things we have indoors, such as TV and other household good, plus indoor facilties like bowling, Cinema and the rest. Maybe i just talking about myself.

i think one of the reasons behind y entertainment around here is largely indoors is to escape the weather...

Nah i wasn't genralising a tad bit, i was generalising alot based on my month experience there  . Yeah it probably is alot more too do with the weather, as in winter all i want to do is stay indoor with the heating turn on full and read a book.

it can be more difficult to get to the country if you live away in the city, but it's well worth planning a trip. It's easier for brothers i suppose, safety wise aswell. But sisters can easily go with husbands or brothers in tow.

My brother went with a few mates not so long ago. He was boasting about how they prayed maghrib on the mountain top, i was so jealous even though i'd been to that same area before lol.

There are muslim groups that organise these kind of retreats if you find it hard to do it yourself. They usually occur in summer. Pray together outdoors. Recite Quran in an open field. During the day do some sort of activity. If hiking isn't your thing, then pull out your cash try canoeing, gorge walking, white water rafting. And you guys may think this is boring or a bengali thing lol but fishing looks so serene and therapeutic i just have to try that. If you catch some salmon or mackeral please don't forget me!

P.S are you sure they chill chill chill Yuit. Life in indopak regions can be very hard. Especially for those not so well off. I get the feeling those that chill out are usually those than can afford to do so. For the rest it's work from the crack of dawn til sunset or later. They don't have time to sit in the sun and admire the views. Work for your food or starve. Least that's how it is in Bangladesh.

I done gorge walking and canoeing and its very good, good fun. I recommend it highly for men.

Fishing? trying not to laugh Im sure its very interesting and enjoyable. . . . if your a bengali

Someone mentioned about praying in open, and reading Quran in open etc. Thats one thing I love about pakistan/saudia. Being able to read namaz in the open with the breeze and the openness and the warmth of the sun on your back and on your head is beautiful. Here we always enclosed with heaters on.

Pakistan, travelled around a lot, but there namaz time comes and we would jsut pull up on side of the highway do wudhu and read namaz. And speaking about maghrib in open. That reminded me of reading Maghrib Namaz in Haram e Makkah. Im upset.

You girls are SO lucky that you’ve managed to do stuff like that…I’ve only done bike riding, ice skating, swimming, canoeing, long nature walks etc as a teenager ….and for the last three years I’ve done absolutely nothing.

It’s my dream to go horse riding…Aasiyah how/when did you manage to ride a horse? I didn’t even know you get them in this country…? :?

wel hey, u know how to swim, u lucky sod! Blum 3 (yea, i went white water rafting without learning how to swim...) Biggrin i dunno y, i just never got the chance to learn how to swim, definitely summat i need to do in the future inshaAllah.

no horses in the UK?!!! cum on, u must have seen police on horseback atleast in pictures. or when ur driving down the motorway past some feilds, ever spot that lone horse among the sheep? Smile
there should be an equestrian centre or stables somewhere near ur home, just google it or summat. private lessons are obviously more expensive than group (about 3/4 ppl) ones, but stil not that bad, last time i checked a private horseriding lesson in most stables costs around £13.
i took lessons when i was abroad on holiday... as always life back home is too busy to fit in lessons, so alhumdulillah i'm glad i got that opportunity. i really miss it tho, cant wait to get back into a stable here.
about how i learnt, good question... i ges there are rules to learn jus like wen ur learning to drive a car, cept ur more in danger coz thers only so much control ur teacher can have over the horse. i fell off twice before i learnt to keep my back straight (horseriding is an excellent way to fix one's posture!). Smile it was my bad luck for it to be thundering when i had those two lessons - lightning struck and my horse got scared so she bolted. if i'd had my back ramrod straight, i wudv moved with her... but got thrown off instead. so dont learn that the hard way like i did. Wink

anwyay bottomline: Horses are simply amazing, subhanAllah times a million! dont miss out on them.

I live in London...the only animals I ever see is cows and thats on the moterway on my way to B'ham. :?

I doubt the people do offer horseriding lessons would be female Muslims...which I'm sure is important as I would be falling of the horse a lot. :?

i don't think it matters as long as they're women. You'll prob fall but nothing will be exposed. But i guess it's what you feel comfy with. If you don't feel at ease then best not to do it. outskirts of london will have stables, go with your sister or friends if you like.

True. Are you into horseriding too?

i've not ever been but i'm mad about horses, always wanted to go so insha'Allah soon. Right now can't go you know why Wink

lol. nah u wont b falling off often - the only reason my horse bolted was coz off the lightning, anything sudden can scare them. which is y inside the stables where ppl are taught, they rarely have any windows. (but mine had a lil one and we just had to b going past it when the lightning struck ) Wink

and beginners are ALWAYS taught indoors, so as long as ur teacher is a female, i dont think there's anything to worry about re: modesty. (and it shouldnt b at all difficult to find a female riding instructor).

also a tip: whatever u do, DONT go horseriding in jeans...

Kindly stick to topic people: HALAL entertainment.

Women riding in jeans on horses, even with only women present is not HALAL.

Kindly stick to topic.
