Fasting on the day of 'Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year, and fasting on 'ashûra, (the tenth day of Muharram) atones for the sins of previous years." [Reported by all except al-Bukhârî and Tirmidhî]

good point (so good i thought i'd bring it to the appropriate thread!)
Quote:
It is necessary (wajib) for every Muslim (male or female, whether praying in congregation or alone) to make the following takbir (declaration of the greatness of Allah) immediately after each obligatory (fard) prayer.
Time:
From: the Fajr Prayer on the 9th of Dhu’l Hijjah (the Day of `Arafah)

Omrow, even if one gets the first day wrong then it will not effect MOST of the blessed days of Dhul Hajj.
They'd still get at least 7-8 blessed days.

Yes. But.
As I said, you are simply NOT going to be rewarded the correct amounts, of whatever, for the allocated days, when you are doing the wrong things on the wrong days.
No point in loosing all your hair and getting a SHINY bold head when you ought to be sweating it out at Arafat.
Its like praying morning prayer at sunet. Its just not going to please anyone. Gabriel will be sending an lol to others.
Thats a really intresting point and I was chatting to mum about this yesterday.
Surely, the Mercy of God is unlimited. Therefore, if He see's millions of Hajji's on mount Arafah and its not even the day of Hajj...I'm sure He will not reject their pleas of forgiveness.
Even if they are mistaken, we know that their mistake is not deliberate.

Numbers don't impress God as they do you.
They might as well make that plea at another place. Because they are at a Sacred place but NOT on Sacred day.
Yes. God is Merciful. But He is not going to reward you for your "morning" prayer when you performed it at dusk.
He will just count the SINCERITY of that act of devotion. Nothing more.
Lol-I don't dispute that. Of course, two people praying is worth more than one person praying invidivdually.
You don't get more reward if there are more people in a gethering....however, if there are more people in a gathering the chances of a sincere, pious individual whom Allah (swt) loves is higher....and maybe for the sake of that pious individual Allah (swt) may accept everyone's prayers.

Why is it that the paki mosques always have too be different. The pakistani mosque in my area have kept Eid only once on the same day as the Saudi. Too me this is just arrogance, i can't believe in nearly 15 years that i can remember the Saudi have alway been wrong on every ocassion apart from one. It also funny how they highlight the ocassion when the Saudi got it wrong but normally brush it aside when it their fault. I would like to have the sense of brotherhood on Eid, but as pakistani we can never have that as we so busy trying to be right. It been like 8 days since they decided Eid was on Wednesday.

The men must necessarily do it in a loud voice.
The women must do it in a low voice.
Ya ALLAH Madad.
Haq Chaar Yaar
I heard that there is a lot of benefits in staying awake in Ibadah on the Eid night. It is the night when dua's are answered and sins are forgiven.
Not if it is the wrong Eid night.
Even so, all ten days and nights of Dhul Hajj are considered very special.
Not if it is the wrong ten days.
Dont be silly.
What are the chances of people getting ALL the ten days of Dhul Hajj wrong?

If get the first day wrong, then you will get the rest wrong.
God's Mercy will not rain. Chaos will reign:
You will be slaughtering when you should be spinning.
And, you will be spinning when you should be stoning.

If number's don't impress God then why are there so many blessings in being in a gathering?
God loves collective worship.
You're right though that God will look at the "SINCERITY" of the devotion.
And sincerity is not dependent on time or place.

I meant that God will give you the SAME amount of reward for a congragation whether there are just two of you praying, or two million.
Two onwards is an assembly in sight of God. After that numbers don't matter. You don't get MORE reward for a larger gathering.
