Should we bring back the revival chat room?
yes bring them back (i didnt know we had them before) it might actually cut down on the extra curricular chatter on the forum topics

Moderation would be hell!
and to think these forums are moderate, think how bad that could be...
what about the uselessness of it?
Also one of the reasons that there is alot of random posting here is because its not an instant conversation. People say many diferent things. some parts get picked up hours or days later.
Would here be a way to makesure all ettiquette is Islamically acceptable?
what do others think?

I coudnt care less about the chat rooms and the mods are sleep on the forum what would they be like in the chat room
Plus some people just go too far and talk rubbish and a chat room wil give them the perfect opportunity to do just this
I also dont see how this will actualy stop people from goin off topic this tends to happen when someone says somethin aside which doesnt relate to the topic hence people start dicussin other things or when the topic is toally rinsed out and no one has anythin to say. IMO a chat room is NOT gona solve this.

Some people might benefit from this.
When people are online at the same time and start to get too chatty and get off the topic they can move onto "chat".
This forum does get too waffly at times.

The MPAC chatroom is cool - and it works well because you have a little indicator right on the forum that tells how many people are presently in it.
Moderating would be an irritation but I think the positives would outweigh the negatives - for one it would give guests the opportunity to talk to members since they cannot post on the forum itself.
It would also clear up a lot of this casual conversation which Hayder and I routinely start on the forum.

lol.....me?!
no.....as i intend to make this my last night........i think 80% waffling wil stop 😂
but chat room is a stupid idea IMO
no1 will be moderating and you dont know whats goin on, message board is much better
plus if you all TRY to stopp waffling, voila

What do you think about only having it open at certain times??
Lets say evenings and weekends... it would be alot more easier to moderate this way.
Most chat room just have inbuilt features that block out swear words etc... and as its only open at certain times of the day a mod could be available around that time to moderate?
Or it could even be used by the editorial team?
But it can also be used as some1 has already pointed out for guests to speak to existing members, without having to create a new thread just to introduce themself.

the need isnt THAT big seraph, as hayder pointed out, if everyone makes a conscious effort to stop waffling this wont b a problem... quite simple really.
adding the chat room wud be a bigger job for the Mods, theyr just about managing with this forum, it'd b unfair to give em that extra load of work... (and a pain in the neck no doubt.)

Good luck catching up with schoolwork etc
Hi all,
Theres been tons of useless posts and new threads being created that have littered the boards. One possible way to stop this is to re-open the revival chat room.
Admin tried it a while ago ... but no one ever used it so it was shut down. Do you think we should re-open it now seen as tho we have more new members??
Is it even a good idea to have a Chatroom on an Islamic Forum? Or does that come under free-socialisation as it is pretty much spontanious speech.
Then again this may also create new problems as the Mods would have to regulate and moderate this also.
Maybe if we only opened it at certain times to maximise its useage?
More of a question for alot of the neewbies and some people who are on here 24/7...
Discuss... and vote...
Remember its not what the revival can do for you... but what you can do for the revival.
