whoa-sounds really pretty

it'll make an ideal eid prezzie for sis-she loves swishy stuff

looks like a trip down oxford circus is due

my local topshop is so lame

love oxford circus topshop, mine in chester is so small, and you get all concessions in o.c, with designer names too.

i got my eyes on pale pink knee high boots and pointy dark green snake skin stillettos. they have a cute flower jewel near the toe.

Some people find that threatening.

BTW it took quite a long time for those women to get down that building.

No, not me.

The people who decided to record it, add subtitles and put it up on the web - MEMRI.

MEMRI is an Israeli org that monitors Arab (and in this case, I suppose, Iranian too) media in order to show the rest of th world how backward and wierd they are.

what was so threatening about that???

i thought good on them

lol that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen.

They look like an elite squad of killer nuns storming a barracks.

The feminist movement is a good thing - but come on, certain gender roles aren't completely evil.

Guys are suppost to be the protectors - not women.

That's our job!

I'm all for girl power and that

but I agree with Dave

them girls need to be more feminine

men should be protectors

lol poor iranians - damned if they do, damned if they dont...

i mean usually the West likes to say they're all backwards and women are repressed there etc etc. but wen it comes to summat like this theyre apparently on the other extreme. make up ur minds people! Blum 3 Wink

lol. although i dont see anything wrong with there being policewomen (this is good in fact, who else will deal with female criminals?), surely there are enough men to be scaling buildings?! - thats where it gets OTT in my opinion. but overall i still think its cool. Biggrin

I NEVER WORE IT BECAUSE OF THE TALIBAN, MOTHER. I LIKE THE MODESTY AND PROTECTION IT AFFORDS ME FROM THE EYES OF MEN.

Nah it's not like that - we are very specific with what we want. All the Iranians have to do is every little thing we do until such point as they are indistinguishable from us!

That's it!

I don't think it's so much to ask.

i bought the pink boots i wanted

but got them home and they look brown, not impressed, going to take them back

what do you think of dark purple or pale green or cream boots??

I'm not really a boots person. It doesnt go with what I wear. But If I was to wear them I'd wear black ones with fur or cream ones with fur.

went Eid shopping today

I gave myself a budget of £20 only

I dont want to go OTT this year-

I managed to find a suit for only £15 (un sewn)

I'll get matching bangles and earing later

I'll post some pictures up in a bit-

has anyone else thought about what they're wearing for Eid?

sis-in-law had some clothes, they werent her cup of tea so i asked if i could have em for Eid (IMO they were perfect - beige with gold/bronze sequins, not OTT)

Wow our posts would have been so much wittier if we hadn't gone off and confused each other into explaining further.

When's Eid?

January 10???

No!

Complete surprise to me.

I thought it was gonna be in February.

Hmm... no wonder everyone's going off to Hajj.

:?

no this is the bigger eid.

Ya ALLAH Madad.
Haq Chaar Yaar

Cool!

Thanks.

Out of curiosity has Christmas affected Eid at all? Do you get Eid presents or an Eid tree or something?

Not officially but out of common practice.

lol depends on who u ask bro.

I would say that definitely xmas has effected muslims.

So much so that for some the 2 eids of islam were not enough, they just HAD to innovate a new one called Eid Milad un Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam.

Its basically muslim xmas, people are ''celebrating'' the Holy Prophet salallhu alayhi wa sallams birthday. They put up fairy lights and tinsel and xmas decorations in the mosques. This aint a lie. Ask any1 here and they will tell u dat on muslim xmas ppl put up xmas deco all over the shop!

I aint seen a muslim xmas tree, but give it time, its only a matter of a few days b4 som1 great person thinks we shud put up trees with lights to celebrate muslim xmas.

I seek ALLAH's refuge from the like of this.
