celebrating xmas?

Sajid Iqbal

salaam

well xmas is round the corner....so what role do Muslims play?
do we send xmas cards to our work colleagues in a way of dawah?
do we say happy xmas in order to be courteous?
do we take part in xmas dinner at school, college, uni, work?
do we give xmas presents to non muslim friends, work colleagues?

the question is: to what extent are we allowed to take part in xmas celebrations?

Yes we dont celebrate xmas, we dont have a xmas tree, we dont have the lights in our house, we dont do the prezzies, the turkey(can we?), the xams parties etc....

but what can we do?

should we do nothing at all?
is anything to do with xmas haram, non islamic, imitation of the kufaar?

what about new years day? new years resolutions?

where do we draw the line?

your views pls

My brain is fried and I misunderstood something. I have to do a 10 page presentation on the role of stereotypes in character development in Fairy tales - completely in German.

Because God hates me or something really big and cosmic like that, because this sort of torture cannot be drawn up in the human mind.

That's what you have to do to become a snob.

Dave why do you believe that Jesus was god when in the bible he say's he isn't?
John 7:16 Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

John 14:24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

John 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent
me, and to accomplish his work.

John 6:38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but
the will of Him who sent Me.

Luke 22:42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me;
nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."

Joh 5:30 "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment
is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the
Father who sent Me.

John 8:42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of my own accord, but he sent me.

Joh 7:16 So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who
sent me"
Dave believing Jesus was God AND son of god makes u a pagen even if u do claim to believe in one god.

Excellent question!

The bible does say he is the Son of God, you are wrong, I am right, and that's why I believe Jesus is the Son of God.

I wonder what is for lunch...

Well seeing as were on the subject:

Jesus AS is sitting aroung a table with his disciples discussing the prevelant narcotics problem in the community.

In the end it is decided that the best course of action is to test these substances so a full anysis can be made (by some chemists I pressume).

So the the disciples go off to collect samples.

A few weeks go by.

There is a knock at the door, Jesus AS says: "who is it?"

"it is I, Peter master, I have returned."

"what have you bought, Peter?"

"from the mountains of colombia, the finest crack coccaine."

"well done Peter, you have done well."

another day, another knock:

"It I Simon, master" (i'm rusty on the apostles)

"what have you bought Simon?"

"from the fields of Nepal, the purest cannabis."

"Well done Simon you have done well."

and so another further apostle returns with crystal meth. and then a while another knock:

"Who is it?"

"It is I Juddas, master"

"what have you bought Judas"

(a loud voice on a mega phone) "ITS THE FBI, THIS IS A BUST, NOBODY MOVE!!!"

and ther we are. 😃 😂 8)

I kinda celebrating xmas in the school I was in today.

Listened to xmas carols. Pulled crackers with the students, helped some students write out xmas cards and sat in a decorated hall and had xmas dinner.

The turkey was dry and bland. And I didnt finish my vegetables either.

It was a high school-lol

Yeah the kids loved it. They loved the carols-they sang along. I pulled crackers with them (I refused to wear the stupid paper hat over my hijaab).

Everyone was generally in a jolly mood which was nice.

star — Sun, 18 Dec 2005 - 14:56

for you fatty...
Song: Walking In The Air - The Snowman Lyrics

We're walking in the air
We're floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly

I'm holding very tight
I'm riding in the midnight blue
I'm finding I can fly so high above with you

Far across the world
The villages go by like dreams
The rivers and the hills
The forests and the streams

Children gaze open mouth
Taken by surprise
Nobody down below believes their eyes

We're surffing in the air
We're swimming in the frozen sky
We're drifting over icy
Mountain floating by

Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep

We're walking in the air
We're floating in the midnight sky
And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly
