The Anneliese Michel audio got my attention though - still think it's fake.

Hayder... the authenticity of that video is questionable... you cant tell from the video where its from as all you see is a girl wearing a headscarf being held down on a what appears to be a red carpet, assuming exorcism take place in mosques... in places in the east they dont hav carpets in mosques they would hav a heck of a time cleaning them all the time due to dust etc. So possibly in the west or somewhere that has a colder climate. The only other thing is the guys holding her down is wearing gloves... becoz its cold... doubtful... perhaps the girl bites... who knows?
Dave... the first video had soo many holes in it. Not only is he supposedly exorcising demons/evil spirits he's also healing crippled men... or a women dying of cancer... wat is he Jesus Christ (pbuh)?
The second recording is of such a low quality you can barely make anything out other than 3 things. Firstly the chanting in the background... i cant seem to make out what it is they're saying. secondly you can hear scream/groans and hissing... and lastly the person recording the audio moving around. Other than that... its just noise.
The number of possession cases are usually higher in such places as Pakistan, backwoods of Russian, USA etc becoz theses people barely have propper facilities to treat ill people and are really religious or give in to cultural superstition. So i agree with you that due to a lack of propper psychological care people mis-interpretate their conditions as supernatural.
Still interesting material...

The Jinns do not do soo willingly... as far as im aware they are usually captured by the witch and made to do their bidding.

Posessions really do happen and one happened to one of my close relative! He's about 19 years old who went back to pakistan for a few weeks with his dad for a holiday and in there house there was a very old tree, which the father thought he would cut it down, which he did. The son kicked one of the branches of the tree and strange things started happening. He began to get fits, some other voice other than his began to talk, nobody could control him and then all of a sudden it went calm again, this carried on for a few days until the father took him to a priest ( a peer) who managed to get the jinn talking, the jinn said the boy kicked the tree (this is when they found out when he was possessed) where they lived and won't leave the boy....to cut a long stroy short, the priest told the jinn to leave the boy or else, the boy returned back here and has been ok since then.....

Okay... firstly, i use the term 'witch' im not talking pointed hat, bed knobs and broomsticks, but more as a generalisation covering a wide number of people e.g. pagans, wiccans, witchdoctors etc. My own fault i should have said so.
Secondly i dont think there are female Jinns... altho experience has taught me that just bcoz i havent come across anything in regards to female Jinns doesnt necessarily mean they dont exist. So im quite devided on that, never heard of female jinns or mention of, but doesnt mean they dont exist.
naj... i seriously doubt churayls are female versions of jinns. Mostly superstition i bet. But no smoke without fire right.

As med said... witches are simply women (usually but doesnt hav to be women) practicing some form of witchcraft... be it White Magic, Grey Magic, Black Magic, Voodoo Magic.
In regards to them having backward feet etc or other disfigoured features is the result of two things: firstly they were born that way, or they're that emersed into the dark arts that its beginning to affect their physical appearance.
In the past women were burned at the stake and wrongly accused of being witches at the most minor things.
We've come a long way since then.

Seriously I have heard abt salem witch trials but in medieval times they also would burn convicted witches at the stake in england. And the trials they had to endure are quite famous - throwing her in a lake of blessed water, if she was innocent the water would accept her and she would sink/drown and if she was guilty then the holy water would not accept such a devilish woman and the witch would float on top and be taken off and killed.
