Oh but it does - why else would people bother?

There is no other reason to pay attention to it.

There might not be legal or spiritual bonuses but people take notice and will pay a little more attention to you.

It's like in the United States when somebody learns you are a Son of the Revolution. Some people won't care - but many people think you have some kind of deeper insight into government.

But here we are talking about religion, which is far more important.

Actually a Syed should be respected on account of his lineage. Imam Shafi'ee alayhi rahmah would stand in respect for even the immature boys of Syed household, it is only in one thing the Syeds are more virtuous, viz lineage. A person may be superior to Syed in regards to knowledge, taqwa, wealth, manners, beauty etc.

It is only in one thing, lineage, that the Syeds are superior to us, and I feel no shame in that. The Syeds are upon our heads.

So i take it dat pakiz and bengaliz lyk each oda den coz i heard dat most of em dont get on but from wat some of you say it seems dat sum do get on am i rite?

I personally go as far as say that i prefer Bengali too Pakistani. Maybe because of their upbringing, but they generally seem to have more manners then pakistani, i am talking about England only here. Islamically there much more aware and I normally agree more with them, then i do with pakistani on islamic matters. But saying that i understand alot of my bengali mate have the same feeling towards their own as I do about my nationaility. But from my point of view they certainly seem better at least.

oh Yuit me as a bengali is so happy to hear that thanx n same goes to the pakistani peepz i think their sfe.Pakiz sori i mean most pakiz think der beta whilst most bengaliz think der beta but its all jus a loada crap to me coz i hate it i mean i personally think and know pakiz who are descent and have respect for all peepz.

There are a number of bizarre organizations that try to gather up descendants of major revolutionary war figures to talk about how great they are and provide scholarships and stuff.

"Sons of the Revolution" is one "Sons of Liberty" is another.

mm i find it hard to accept that anyone is more superior than the next person just because of their lineage, background or anything. I've met lots of ppl on forums who claim they're syeds, then they continue to down talk to you like somehow they are instantly in a better standing in society and with God just because of this name? Sheesha is fine by me, a very relaxing way to socialise; probably unhygeinic and clinically unhealthy, but it's cool to be carefree once in a while if others will also enjoy it. Sometimes it's nice to use narghila as a room scent, occasionally popping over to stoke it up and have a puff. In Britain, in my place anyway, it recalls the contemplative grandeur of the Alice in Wonderland caterpillar and all those pre-twentieth century smacked up travelled artisans, so it's a bit of homage, not just the middle-eastern time out thing.

They ain't exactly Lewis Caroll (not that I am), I don't relate to them so well. Being really honest I get uncomfortable around that, sitting by the main road there doesn't remind me of chilling in the desert or anything. But there are some very funky little clubs around London where it is nice to sit with a sheesha and red wine among friends. There was a wicked Tunisian sarnie place (I don't think I could eat much there) in Leeds, with an upstairs full of poufs and hookahs 😂 , I've forgotten what it's called, opposite the Townhouse (Townhouse was dead naff).
