Lol looks like you need to chill. I didnt realise what i said came across as nasty that honeslty was not my intention.
Maybe when i said "thats pointless" made it come across as harsh?

Yeah F020855 (couldn't you possibly get a easier username) I sure angel meant no harm, she couldn't harm a fly and I mean it literally, she a weakling.
But I understand the point both of you lot were trying to make. Angel was just stating that we should use our whims and desire when deciding what opinion to follow as it become pointless as our minds are made up before even going to the scholars.
But i kind of know what F020855 is saying, taking Mawlid for a example, many scholar will say it permissable and I can accept that, but my problem is with the way it is celebrated. So it would be better for me to take the opinion of a scholar who opinion is nearer to mines on this decision. As evidence exist for both.

with me, I take advice from my Ustaadji in nearly every major issue so far and many times my own nafs dislikes the advice but alhamdulillah I still take it cos my Ustaadji is a million times wiser than me and knows better for me than I ever could.
nor doI have an issue with peope who choose to follow one or a million scholars
I only hate the people who preach sectarian-you know cuss/slander/abuse other groups
that stupid behaviour says a LOT about their so called teachers

lol, if people want to go down into comments about others teachers then they are welcome to it.
I could comment a lot abt people, I could say what do ppls teachers teach if their students openly profess to having a problem with MTV, or having a problem in the most basic thing aftet imaan, viz salah. The people know what I am on abt.
But, I am not so ignorant or arrogant to think that just because a person has faults in them, that it means their teachers are responsible for it. May ALLAH protect me from such ignorance. ameen
I know its wrong to judge a Shaykh by the beliefs or actions of their followers; however this is something that most of us automatically do without even realising.
I remember once I met the students of Shaykh Muhsin and I was totally won over by their beliefs/character of the girls and the respect they would show to their teacher as well as the respect they showed to other teachers.
The first thing I said to my mate was that “he must be a fantastic teacher”…I automatically (without even realising) ascribed the character of the girls to their teacher.
Its wrong but…one always wonders who another person is influenced by….
Sometimes when kids go astray people automatically wonder about that child’s family/home situation….even though in some cases parents are not to blame for what their kids are like.
However, it is said though that the teacher is like a mirror…and the students always reflect the character and teachings of their teacher.
Linking the beliefs/character of an individual to their teacher is not always the right thing to do…but its something that very common in our society.
So, if one wants to preserve the honour, credibility and status of the one they claim to follow…they should try their utmost hardest not to tarnish the name of their teacher.

erm gud post.
But I just wanna say that my character is nothing what so ever like my Ustaadjis. ALL the evils are present in me and that is me alone, my Ustaadji is free from my faults.
I hang my head in shame.

If it was down to the mureeds, my thought on Shyakh Tahir Ul Qadri would be really really really bad. Because the first couple of characters i met that associated themselves with him were really bad and IMO had no adab. Some of the things that they said too me, I have never imagine a muslims ever being able to say that too a fellow muslims.
I think you can only really judge a shaykh when you been in his presence, the way he acts the way that people act towards him, what he talk about. Mureeds are just human and they all interperate stuff differently. Many represent their shaykh really badly

They all sound the same... apart from that there are many good, and alot not so good.
As an example, all they seem to be interested in is getting a mention of either Dr Qadri, or Minhajulquran.
And that is the biggest flaw in the organisation.
The promote the organisation more than the work.
They have a scholar at the helm who is capable, but it is wasted potential.

I personally learn through lectures/books and my Shaykh comes to the UK at least once a yr so we are lucky in that sense that he Shaykh-ul-Islam takes time out to benfit us ie. we had a 3 day camp (july this yr) in which we had a lecture of at least 3hrs+ each day from Shaykh-ul-Isalm (chek the Al-Hidayah camp thread).

all hail Med-ur just perfect of course...and not to mention humble
my post wasnt directed to you-nor did I quote any post of urs
i was speaking about EVRYONE who does this
I often judge teachers based on their loyal students-so what?
many people do that-
after all its the JOB of the teacher to impart knowldge/manners on the students
if I NEVER come across a decent student of ANY scholar
I'm going to start assuming stuff about the teacher
so what? what's it to u-
many people think like that
k, whatevaa.

those who claim to be massive, loyal followers of their teacher AND preach their shaykhs teachings too
usually reflect their teachers character/teaching
any tom, dick and harry student can not be judged on their teacher
Dr Tahir ul Qadri has hundred of his students all over the world-who preach his teachings-they are scholars too
they preach/act and think pretty much the same as him
No they do not.
and that is a major issue with the organisation.

well I've only seen an handful in London-
and heard many lectures by Shaikh Qadri (frm manchester)
and have heard about some from up north who are good
to me, they all preach similar to Sheikh Tahir ul qadri
They all sound the same... apart from that there are many good, and alot not so good.
