A book called "Shirk" written by Mohmmad Khan. very interesting to see what the ummah gets up to these days :twisted: also very distressing :evil:

The revival magazine is pretty good (excluding the shirk) keep up the good work Ed 😃 (but exlude the shirk mate :? )

Its a TOP book, which mentions a number of sunnan of Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam. MashaALLAH includes chapters on ring, surmah, turban, favourite curry, swords, helmets, foods etc. mashaALLAH it is beautiful.

I reading Chris Eubank Bio at the Mo. It brillant, proper funny bloke, even though he a bit full of himself. I see that he credit himself with all his success, which is funny for a boxer. But it a cool book I love to meet him.

I remeber muslimsis mentioning buying the biography of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ra), let me know how u find it in terms of the writing style, is it hard to understand or pretty easy...after readin a glimpse of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ra) life in "secrets of secrets" it got me interested. I always wanted to buy the full biography but never got round to it. So it would be good to hear if the book is easy to read.

it starts with, 'My son...' and then 1 or 2 small pages of Very wise words he would pass onto others

I only brought the “Necklace of Gems” a few days ago, and have only read the first few chapters.

It’s a very thick book and I wouldn’t say its any more or less complicated to read then “The secrets of secrets”.

If you can read “the secrets of secrets” then you can def read his biography as well….

I believe it’s the most comprehensive biography available in English. And it’s a must have for those who look up to Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jillani (ra).

...Your a Uni student I'm sure you can hack it...But its not a book that can be finished over night.

Or it must be the book by Imam Ghazali titled "My beloved son"-thats a great book.

Can you give me a review when you finish the book, i always found Khalid bin Waleed (ra) and Hazrat Umar (ra) very interesting characters. Especially after reading Yashmati signature.

Speaking of Sayyidina Khalid radhiyallahu anh any1 read about how he took a battalion acroos the desert of shaam to assist the Muslim battalions in filisteen. That is what I call military genius. MashaALLAH.

and my lil cuz stole mine, he also says its a really good book

it wont dissapoint you, that i guarentee.

it was Hadrat Abu Bakar (R.A.) who said, 'mothers will no longer give birth to men like Khalid'

and there was another saying by the Beloved Nabi ﷺ regarding Hadrat Khalid Bin Waleed (R.A)...cant remember off top of my head

Serioulsy though, I love books. Its the best way to pass time...I don't have a favourite though.

But whenever I'm in an Islamic bookshop I go straight to the "spiritual section".

Muslimsis can u recommend a book on sufism, i find most books just go over my head but i find that subject very interestin!

i was given a book fron ma brother he just went out and randomly bought me a book home lol i appreciated it though. its like ia lil guide to everyday life for a muslim sister called the muslim womens handbook not that long either finished it in a nite. but its useful to refer to for small nitty gritty problems. iam lending ryte now so cant remeber ho wrote it but i think its was our agony aunt Ruqayyah Maqsood. oops

I thought abdul-qadir gillani's al fath ar rabbani (the sublime revelation), was pretty good.

Read a book called "The Breadwinner" by Deborah Ellis.

It's about this 11 year old girl named Parvana who is living in Afghanistan during the taliban rule. Her father is arrested and as she has no older brothers, her family decides to pass her off a s aboy so she can go out to work.

This book was excellent, finished it in the same day (It isnt as long as most books). It made me think how lucky I am to have shelter, food and clothes. There's a sequel aswell to this book (currently reading it) called "Parvanas journey" which basically follows up the 1st one.

A recommended read.

Sounds like a good book.

Another one added to my already long list.
