Lol funny story...
Once in a college in a Key Skills class (don't ask ) the teacher didn't have a register so he told everyone to list their names on a piece of paper that he sent round.
I got the paper after about 4 or 5 other people. I put my name on it, and at the top of the list I wrote 'Fredrick Sidebottom'.
The teacher got the list back and he counted the names on the list. Then he counted the people in the class. The numbers didn't add up.
He looked up at the Indian guy who he gave the paper to first. Then he looked back at the list. Then he looked at the guy again, then the list again.
Then he said, 'there seems to be an extra person in the room, I suspect it's Fredrick Sidebottom.'
Ofcourse no-one guessed it was me. I would have been the last person they thought it could have been.
I suppose you had to be there...
Not to mention the incident with first name Too second name Rude... sorry

I tink there a lot of important talking points which can be included in future issues. For example, the following:
1) Haram earnings & their consequences e.g. drugs, fraud, selling alcohol, insurance claims, credit card scams, pirate DVD copies etc.
2) The importance of respect to parents, relatives & neighbours in pleasing Allah (swt).
3) How to overcome temptation for women/wealth - as the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said women&wealth will be a great test for man.
4)Why NOT to a)envy others, b)despise others, c)be angry with others, d)turn away from one another as muslims, e) be suspicious of one another, f) find faults with one another, g)spy on one another.
5) Patience is a great virtue.
6) Importance of knowledge & education for muslim youth - from cradle to grave.
7) Respecting the rights of everyone muslims & non-muslims.
Obeying the law of the country you live in as a muslim duty.
9) Life after death - being successful & happy in this life which is a test & the hereafter.
10) Signs of Qiyamaat - every second we are moving closer to the day of judgement!
As a young individual myself i have found the previous issues to be very helpful & interesting - articles on Boy/Girlfriends, Alcohol/Clubbing & Drugs, as like the above talking points they are importantly related to this day&age & connect with the muslim youth.

Hello people
Ironic that I'm posting my intro post as I'm considering leaving the forum, not the net, possibly sign up on the new Minhaj forums... :?
But anyways,
Likes: footy, tree climbing, milk, zhikr sessions, colour Green and sweet stuff.
As I sit in the drop in center, the worry of not having my assignment to hand today no longer so prominent, I watch life around me. To my right a fellow student sits transfixed by his screen, right hand on the mouse, left hand in a semi-curled fist (it just became a cupped shape) resting on his chin, the elbow of said arm calmy positioned on the table.
To my left, through the window cars go by, those coming in my direction and those in a contra-manner, crossing planes so many times but never meeting.
I look up at the sky and see a pinkish hue, woah its time for Asr, innabit!

Yeah plus you be representing Minhaj better here as there a bigger and wider audience.
But on the subject matter, considering ed was planning to give out the mags this weekend at the conference, i gather you must have decided what the topics are going to be. Are u going to do a halal entertainment one, i think it would be a good idea with christmas holidays and certain amount of corruption about.

There's only about a handful of active posters on that forum anyway. All they talk about is extremism and nasheeds/naats.
They'll soon get used to the flow of things. Besides, how different can Minhajans be from one another?
And half the Editorial team will have a fit, bacause they disagree with MQ. The rest will have a fit because we have a diferent and thriving audience.
and MQ will have a fit when they read the articles...
We NEED to be independent.
(had a look. They seem to be pretty quiet... they have launched a mag have they not? that would prolly help them get a good membership.)

I disagree seeing as I first found out aboput the revival from people handing out revival mags at the 2005 Al Hidayah camp.
People grosed out easily might not want to read this:
Sometimes when you've been wearing a set of night clothes for about a week they smell fine, but if they happen to be near you after you've just taken a shower, you can immediately tell they need a wash.
Well after the MICS camp I suddenly felt I couldn't be bothered with all the Deobandis/Wahabis/Salafis/ on this forum blackening my heart, and the Minhaj forum also talks alot about Shaykh ul Islam, plus now that Med's gone, I don't spend hours a week trying to keep the peace and so my part Raison d'Etre ici has dwindled.
However I didn't say i was leaving and it wouldn't be the same with out some of you pakis... j/k
