i was just wondering, are we allowed to keep pets? if so, what kind of pets? which ones are forbidden?
and why are dogs forbidden? (the reason)
and in pakistan and other countries, they keep dogs...but were told they are paleeth?
are cats ok?
and why dont asians keep pets?! in general we dont show much love for animals, be it housing one, sponsoring one, looking after them, helping em etc.
Why? Animals have rights in Islam, and as creatures of Allah swt....why are we neglectful of them? (poor old tigers
)

u can keep dogs for necessity. in our village back home every house has a dog to protect from the dakku and from trespassers. it bes a guard dog so thats y we have one. but we dnt let it inside the house. or even in birandah

I want a cute kitty, but my dad is alergic to them however i probs end up killing the poor thing as i spend lil time in the house during weekdays. I hate dogs, most defnitly stupid alsation's who like chasing me :evil:

dogs are pretty intelligent creatures, why they considered impure i dunno...but they shouldnt be mistreated as its a creation of allah tallah and each animal has been created for a purpose
I had 2 gold fish, won both at a fair, 1 died of old age and the other we set free in a river near us coz it was lonely (thought it cud mingle wiv the ducks so it wudn't get lonely). Had 2 hamsters as well (not my idea, were me lil bro and sis). 1 killed the other (must have been a meat eater) and the other 1 either died of old age or loneliness.

lol n second time me dad was in a world of his own n felt sympathetic for the fish as it was cold outside n he cleaned the water an filled it with warm well luke warm lol and the sizzeled to death poor things.

plants my house is a tropical rainforest lol mamum loves the things there everywhere
i had about ten fish's
rainbow ones now I have five
cleaning the fish tank/feeding them etc is a full time job
i love fish

I had a black cat (supposedly bad luck... silly superstition) called cleo. It died in a car going over its head kinda accident. It was terrible. Didnt get another after that.
Animals have rights too in Islam, the holy prophet (pbuh) once said: "All creatures are like a family (Ayal) of God: and he loves the most those who are the most beneficent to His family." According to the learned commentators of the Quran animals all live a life, individual and social, like members of a human commune. In other words, they are like communities in their own right and not in relation to human species or its values.
There was a Hadith that reported the Prophet (PBUH) telling of an incident in the past where a saint was stung by an ant and, in anger, he ordered the whole of the ants' nest to be burned. At this, God reprimanded this saint in these words: 'because one ant stung you, you have burned a whole community which glorified Me'.
The Holy Prophet (pbuh) used to say: "Whoever is kind to the creatures of God, is kind to himself." Which kinda puts animal experimentation in a whole different light. Atho its done to find cures for diseases most of which are created by Mankind - physically, mentally are of our own creaton. So why make animals suffer for it.

i read about someone who goes out JUST to run stray dogs over :evil:
did u see that Goodness gracious me episode when the asian guy was talking about how he saw a dog in his driveway so he got in his car just to run it over-and backed up just to make sure he was dead
