not gonna pretend tht i know wot ur on about, but it sounds good! so well done! ๐
btw, wos just wondering: think u mentioned somewhere tht ur gonna become a rebellious catholic if u marry Annette - y cant u stay a Presbyterian? :|
Ahh you're not supposed to know what i'm on about you're just supposed to agree that i'm probably a genius!!
lol that's a random question ~ a couple reasons. I'd like a family and call me traditional but a family is supposed to go to church together, not run around going to different places with conflicting ideologies, the second is her family is really strict about religion (and so is she) and it would just be more comfortable for all of us if I joined the Catholic church, third and finally I really don't care all that much a christian is a christian for the most part.
I could stay a Presbyterian but seeing as it's not such a big deal I stay locked into X sect of Christianity I might as well convert - it'll make her happy.
Frankly as long as you don't have any conflict with the apostles creed I consider you a Christian, and these divisions don't serve any other purpose than to confuse people and divide us.

I'm not totally up on Catholic dogma but I think on top of everything else if she doesn't have a Catholic wedding she is technically still considered a bachelorette, and also she has a responsibility to raise her kids Catholic.

Just totally anihilated one of my con law professors exams
I made him look silly
I DIDN'T EVEN READ THE HEPBURN DECISION
And I managed to divine an answer off of just a paragraph long quote from it.
Ohhh it was beautiful I compared it to the Dartmouth decision by noting the expansion of the Contracts clause in Dartmouth to include charters was analogous to the equating of debts and contracts in Hepburn!!!
Chase even used the same words as Marshall when he talked about the spirit of the law!
And I never even read the case! I have no idea what it's even about!!! That means I have the same logical proceses of a long dead Supreme Court Chief Justice!!!!
I need a medal.
Or a balloon
or a really really really big cake.
I'm going to order that pizza I said I was going to order last night and backed off of because God threatened me with lightning bolts!!!
I love people like that - women especially since generally speaking they are more compassionate towards children.
Dave why did you bring up children?
lol get them on a tangent and then introduce them to a 4 year old of the particular group they hate the most - a really cute kid.
The most adorable kid you can find, and then tell them to explain to the kid whats wrong with them.
It's a win win scenario - either they have to give in and be all cute and cuddly with the kid and take everything back, or they are mean and make the kid cry.
In which case they look like a monster and everybody ignores em.
Here ya go!

Go ahead lady, tell the kid.
I dare ya.

She was once cornered into admitting that her loyalty is to Israel.
On this show she say's her loyalty is to this country. Then, right away, she starts ranting about how this country has failed to nurture double-identity.

thanx for answering... and theyr all good reasons! to be honest the Catholics i know are much more practising Christians, as compared to Protestants.
I had a Sri Lankan teacher who was Catholic, she was the nicest lady, bless her.
Is it true that Catholics follow the Old Testament more closely? (which is y they seem to have loads more in common with Islam too).

From my understandiing the divide in rthe UK is not catholics and protestant in regard to who is practising, but natives and non-natives.
The non-natives (especially from Africa) are far more practising.

Quite welcome;
Actually from what I have experienced it's the Protestants that are more practicing - but really that depends on what you mean practicing. In my experience Protestants are evangelical and therefore are more often proclaiming the faith and attempting to spread it (id est convert you). On top of that they are more Old Testament centered than Catholics and militant. They are also more political.
Meanwhile the Catholics - depending on the people I suppose are a little less practicing. Annettes family like mine are Christians in name only - Annette is quite devout in a serious manner and I consider myself the same; actually she is probably the reason I take religion seriously.
My experience with Catholicism is that it is more New Testament centered since that is the source of the Catholic church's power. Honestly I don't think I would be such a horrible Catholic - the Protestant churches, especially the Presbyterian church have been overrun by the evangelical movement which I have serious problems with. Whereas Protestant clerics were once the intellectual crowd of both society at large and the Christian community, they are now ranting idiots that water everything down to "you're forgive" "jesus died for you" "convert the unbelievers." The Catholic church is once again the scholarly branch of Christendom.
I think you'll find that most American Protestant churches have more in common with Islam than does the Catholic church.
I guess to revisit an earlier comment I don't think i'll be such a terrible Catholic; I respect the history of the church and my theology has remained bedrock solid whilst the trends of the Christian community have floated into such an orientation I have more in common with the Catholic or even Eastern Orthodox churches now, than I do with the Protestant Churches. I'm usually rather irreverant of ideas that make no sense to me which might prove problematic.
