Being A Religious Rebel

I’ve been talking to my friends recently a lot about this topic…surprisingly its very common.

You may know/heard of girls who used to walk out the house wearing loose/decent clothes and used to change in school and/or at the top of the road…..or them teenagers who used to tell their parents that they’re going to the library or school and would end up somewhere that their parents would never approve off.

Similarly, these days some youth are becoming “religious rebels” instead of being “wild-teenage rebels”.

One can’t help but smile at some of the lengths some people go through just to practise/work for their religion.

I heard of someone who puts on his Jilbaab/hat in his car on his way to the Mosque cos his parents don’t like this attire.

I heard of someone who puts her Niqaab on at the top of the road….I know of someone from up north who tells her parents that she’s going to the library whilst in actual fact she attends religious circles.

I know of girls who bunk school/Uni lectures to attend religious programmes.

I even know of people who secretly spend all their money on charity only cos their family wouldn’t approve….other’s are known to “pretend” that they are doing anti Islamic activities to keep the family sweet whilst in actual fact they’re really doing Islamic stuff.

Convert stories are the most interesting…some still pretend to be part of the religion that they have renounced whilst others do stuff secretly.

Some parents are totally oblivious to the 101 Islamic activities that their son/daughter may be involved in.

Some people are defiant in nature so they have more of a “like it or lump it” attitude…they don’t care how many people become upset over their activities. Others are more diplomatic and dislike upsetting loved ones…so they are more likely to do stuff undercover.

It’s funny as well as sad the extent some people go in order to hide things that make Allah (swt) happy.

Does anyone have any personal experiences that they wish to share…Does anyone know of anyone in the above predicament?

never prayed tahajjud....

is it jus as many 2 rakat nafls as you like?

what time period does it have to be between?

ive stayed up until fajr outside of ramadan, however it was hardly doin ibadah!

and durin ramadan i can stay up after fajr and read some Quran or do some revision

but i couldnt possibly sleep for only two hours a night like that woman!!

im extremely impressed....she mus sleep between zuhr and asr or some time durin the day??

She don't. Thats why I rate her...she leaves for work at 8.00am and is back in the evening. She only sleeps for two hours every night.

By the way guys I think in order to read Tahajud one has to sleep first (I think-not 100% sure!)

But what if sum1 does ibidah throughout the night and then reads tahajud and goes to sleep that is acceptable, but i was askin my sis and she believes that readin tahajud means leavin the comfort of your bed and praying to Allah (swt) i supose that is the real test as no one sees you in the night and one doesnt do it to show the world. So I it would mean to go to sleep and get up unless one is always praying all night, thats a diff. story.

You can only read tahajjud after waking up, and before fajr time starts...

At other times you just do normal nafl's.

Is that the only time? What if sum1 does worship all night long and reads the tahajud nafl, is that not counted as readin tuhajud :?

I am 100% sure.

Even pious people sleep.

They normally sleep for only a small (early) portion of the night.

Not used my shaykh...

Its two raka'ats of nafl, upto a max of 8 I think.

Is it not like normal nafl?

(PS in Nafl prayer you can read more than you can read n fardh prayer... such as after rukooh...)

Its upto 8 nafl, read in couplets. (i.e. not as two olots of four...)

You can pray only two if you like... Or all eight.

alas one who actually reads Tahajjud will know better than me...

Thats what i said to my sis when she said she was gona wake me for tahajud, i was like let me get up for fajar 1st then i'll think bout tuhajud.

I remember readin tahajud at ummrah, there u forget bout sleep 2 hrs a day is enough.

Tahhajud is a nafl salah consisting of i think between 4 nd 8 rakaat but if a person even just reads 2 raka'at with intention for tahhajud, even then it stands prayed.

Now the beauty of nafl salah is this . . . it can have many intentions. So if a person wakes up he can technically make intention for 2 raka'at nafl Salatul Isha, Salatul Tahhajud, Salatut Tawbah, Salatul Haajat, Salaatul Istikharah, Tahiyatul Wudhu and Tahiyatul Masjid. SUBHANALLAH!

7 namaz can be offered in just 2 raka'at and they say islam oppresses?
(chatting abt those who say islam oppresses, i aint cussin any of the ppl here , lol)

im pretty sure the minimum rakaat is 4 rakaat nafl tahajjud and the maximum is 12 rakaat, i think im 99% sure
