HAIR DESIGNS...

among the silly types of fashion is the cutting of the hair in such a

manner that part of the head is almost shaven and part of it is not.

known as,"short back and sides" or "wedge" , this sort of haircut has been

forbidden in islam,

how many guyz here have such hair cut done ?

may almighty allah save us from following those who oppose rasulullah sallalahu alaihi wasallam (ameen)

Shaved/tapered toward the back short and to the side up front?

Is that what's known as a 'short back and sides' here?

:?

khan — Thu, 29 Sep 2005 - 18:50

im GUESSING here.. those who cut their hairs like that, are influenced by someone.. I doubt hair cuts like that have Islamic roots..

so could it fall under 'immitating the kafir'? I'd be interested in a breakdown of 'immitating the kafir' ruling if anyone has one..

I think she means having close to a shave on the back and side (grade 1), and alo on top. Like an undercut, or a mohican.

It is natural to have sides slightly smaller than top. Otherwise you just have a wig!

Now if they are allowed or not, couldn't say.

As with everything; its allowed unless it is forbidden. So if no proof, it is allowed.

PS this 'imitating kuffar' thing is in regards to things that can be seen as a religious act. Not every small thing. e.g. you cannot dress like a cardinal.

Dave — Thu, 29 Sep 2005 - 19:18
That's what's known here as a 'freshy' haircut.

And what's so funny about my hair cut?!

Why do they call it a freshy?

Oh... that would just look ridiculous.

lol as would a muslim dressing like a cardinal.

Incidentally that raises a relevant question from the deeyah thread. lilsis mentioned she has some friend (who I am not amused with) who wears a cross as "jewelry" isn't that more or less in the same line as dressing like a cardinal?

yep, I mentioned it there.

Muslims cannot wear the cross. It is a sign of christianity.

I didn't know hair cuts where discussed in the Holy Quran or the Ahadith, can you give me a reference to say where it says hair should be cut in a particular way or where such and such hair cut is forbidden, I want to know out of curiosity, thats all. Thanks

for your information a ahadeeth i came across :

it is reported that rasulullah sallalahu alaihi wasallam saw a child whose head was partly shaven.Rasulullah sallalahu alahi wasallam prohibited them from that practise and said : "either shave the entire head or leave the entire head"( abu dawood)

hairstyles which involve different lengths of hair on different parts of the head, though not actually shaven off, also fall within the purview of this hadeeth.

1. using a lot of words doesn't make me snobby it just makes me smart.

2. I don't actually drive my porsche around - it's not street legal I just race it.

2.5 well... technically I don't drive it on the street 😃 but that would be terribly illegal and I always obey the law.

3. freshys come off the boat - that's not snobby

4. a lot of rlp and jcrew actually

Actually I don't wear jeans. Never liked em.

Slacks and khakis.

Jeans are too stiff and uncomfortable.

My haircut isn't snobby - how can a haircut be snobby.

John Roberts isn't snobby.

Everybody think's he's nice.

And attractive

...which is a little creepy
