lol I have noticed you are really up on American politics though - and from a guy who claimed to have not done so well in his Constitution class it makes me wonder what the deal is...

Tryin to figure out why we don't make sense?

Ever thought of immigrating?

Heres the Tom Delay article by the way:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/28/delay.indict/index.html

I hope he rots in a Texas prison for a long time.

The guy is as crooked as they get.

My main source of info is the satire. If it wasn't for the humoureseness of American satirists, I wouldn't be much clued up on US politics.

Ofcourse for 'real' stories I check out the 'real' news.

Many republicans have defended Delay. Will they get any blowback?

We do love our sarcasm - do you get Conan O'brien? If you like John Stewart you would probably like Obrien too.

Although he's not political all the time.

Yes they will. Sort of like rats out of a sinking ship they are trying to back away from any pro delay comments they might have made in the past

Conan's good too.

Guess what?

UK is going to get the Daily Show soon!

It'll be on a new digital channel from Channel 4 called More 4.

At the moment I only get clips of the Daily Show on the web.

lol congratulations - it's a fantastic show the clips don't do it justice.

...of course it can get crude...

fast.

That really bothers me.

This Week in God can be awkward too sometimes.

I wonder if they'll continue with it after Colbert's gone.

Yea as a person of faith I find that a bit offensive, and a lot of their attacks on conservatism bother me too.

But the show is too funny to get too caught up in that.

I didn't think colbert was leaving.. I thought the new show was just a shootoff but he'd be doing both?

That's okay I suppose he's not the funniest guy there.

I think Ed Helms is the funniest.

Beast — Wed, 28 Sep 2005 - 23:43

They had a guest on once, some old guy, and he said he's been practicing to replace Stephen Cordry. And Jon said no Stephen Colbert is the one who's going.

Colbert is funniest.

BTW Colbert is actually a practicing Catholic.

Colbert's got a funny way of showing it.

I wish him well though - his show won't last, he doesn't have it by himself and it's fated to be gimmicky and derived.

I was afraid of that. 🙁

You know it's bound to happen, the guy right now is making a fundamental mistake - he thinks all this praise coming in his direction is because of him and not that great team they have on the show.

It will be two daily shows competing with themselves and the original has too much heat to lose that battle.
