Out dated chocolates

There are some chocolates in my room. They have been there for 2 years.

I was hungry. Ate one now.

Am I gonna die from outdated chocolate related disease?

Or does chocolate not get outdated?

We'll find out soon. Lucky that Noor's around again, she can update us Biggrin

I found a wonka bar from 2009 in my draw this year, or was it 2012? I normally eat things if they're only a few days over but I this was years so I threw it out.

smell, look, taste. if unchanged, unfunny. eat. that is the way i roll. your body is pretty good at chucking back stuff out. aka. vomit or the other way. you'll live inshaaAllah.

but hey, dying of choc related disease, not bad eh?

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

I think as a rule it would be a crime to let any chocolate go to waste... Unless it has mould growing all over it.

And I heard as it were, the noise of thunder. One of the four beasts saying come and see and I beheld, a pale horse. And his name that sat on him was Death... and Hell followed with him.

You survived to tell the tale.

In the bin it should go.

There's a reason behind having best before dates.

Best Before should mostly be ignored.

+1.

you want to explain your reasoning Hummus? random people telling you to throw food away because of ssome printed numbers and you listen to them?

I think I've seen at least two shows, or maybe it was the same show but basically a number of people were shown eating left over food which restaurants, supermarkets etc threw away. It was perfectly fine but just cuz it's past the date or left over it was thrown away. The people were fine and they literally lived on that food that they found!

It just feels outdated even if I can't see any fungi that's making it's way to the surface. I'm just very fussy like that.

Malnutrition - Kids in Africa.

I AM fussy about eating but when you have siblings who aren't as fussy, they wouldn't mind if it still looks edible. I have them and mother obviously.

You're making it sound like I waste tonnes of food and throw everything away and that's not the case at all. The only times I food at home are as soon as i come home (koka noodles can't go stale that quickly), supper (freshly made every single day) and on the weekends (freshly cooked again or take away).

Solution: Only buy what you know you are capable of eating until the next you're going to shop. Tell mother not to cook so extravagantly and more than people are going to eat. It works. You buy less, eat the same amount and waste less.

true words of wisdom abve.

just, you'd waste even LESS if you didnt throw the gone-by-date food away.

Why does bottled water have a bestbefore date?

The plastic can disintegrate into the water perhaps. That's why some bottles strictly forbid you from reusing them.
