Thank you, was just about to write something similiar.
I can see how someone would relate to this topic about the Prophet and his wives. But that is a different topic altogether and quite frankly as far as I know or am concerned about it, the Prophet was more than capable of treating each wife equally and Iv not heard or read anywhere of anyone complaining about that bit. And this is what the topic is really about.
If you want to have a discussion on the age of Aisha (ra) then make another topic. Because your comment, Abu, already has vibes of hatred and lack of understanding. Or really, you just dont want to see it any further than what you see already. Open your mind up a bit if you want to discuss.

There IS a difference of opinion. Some so-called scholars have 'changed' the age of Aisha (RA) to be 15+ because of the criticism from the west. On the other hand, some believe that she was much younger when she was officially married..
Lol, no need for deaths. A lot of people agree with what Lilly said..

I say you seem like an idiot because you are on this thread talking about sensitive topics such like the one of the Prophet (saw)’s last marriage with comments and statements that are typical of someone who lacks understanding or has never opened his/her mind to any reasoning to why it happened. I think you have already decided whatever anyone else has to say, what you have to say has to be correct. For this reason you are an idiot. If you want to discuss, do it properly. Don’t come across as someone who has never been to school. You are on a website designed for Muslim people so your argument is already up against people who have true faith in anything that has happened in the history of Islam. You are also up against intelligent people so if you’re going to talk about a sensitive topic, talk about it like an intelligent guy. You will struggle and come across as pathetic against people that are able to explain things better on here.
There is no difference of opinion, read your koran !
As far as I know noone died and made you queen so who cares what you find welcome anyway ? As for the topic its all about engaging yr mind and not following blindly ....................
As you are not Muslim please stop pretending to know what Islam says.
And no, there is no "no difference of opinion". The opinion of her being 9 was popularised by a specific set of political circumstances a couple of centuries after the prophet (saw).
However the historians and Islamic chroniclers could not validate that opinion as facts put her age at approximately twice your quoted age (between 17 and 19).

It hasnt been changed. the older books have the higher age, the later books have the lower age.
And the reason why the reason that the lower is in some of the later books is NOT because they calculate it as such but they take the position that The prophet is sinless and EVEN IF ummul Mu'mineen Hadhrat Aisha Siddeeqa (ra) was younger, EVEN THEN, the prophet would be sinless and not blameworthy.
I cannot deny that there is substantial opinion suggesting the lower age, but often it seems to me that it is on the basis that the prophet is sinless regardless of what others say as opposed to calculations (there are ahadith in bukhari, one of which suggests the lower age if you do not take into account customs of how numbers were stated in arabic, and another which suggests an older age as ummul Mu'mineen hadhrat aisha (ra) states that she was a young girl when a specific surah is revealed - which if she was the younger age she wouldnt even have been born yet.)

Your lack of debating schools and faulty rationale reveals a lack of education on your part , I not only attended school but managed to pick up a couple of degrees along the way as well so I think I can debate a point bereft of emotion or rancour.Indeed I do wonder having seen your grammar and diction where you managed to get a semblance of an education from ? Was it one of those special schools in Waziristan ?
I do not maintain that what I alluded to was correct however merely brought it up in a context where questioning the behavioural subsets in tribal Arabia using modern day attitudes would reveal a different outcome ....You chose to get on your bandwagon and decry everything anf anything , this is a common fault with wahhabhis who still think they are picking up dates in the hejaz.
To combine all the other points its simpler to list ;
The prophet did marry and have a physical relationship with a 9 year old child , this is DOCUMENTED FACT so get over it
Yes maybe this was the practice then but viewed thru a modern kaleidoscope this would be deeply unpalatable to normal people

Facts are not just Facts. Because even facts have context. Which you seem to be oblivious to. Its a capital mistake to theorise before one has all the data. At which point your twisting facts to suit theories.
1st it was the customary for Arabs to arrange the marriage of their children. As the Arabs were a very tribal people and they did so to preserve social status. Much like how in medieval times, kings, lords, Upper-Class Gits of England did.
2ndly She was offered in marriage to the Prophet (pbuh) by the girls own father, Abu Bakr (sa). Who was a companion of the Prophet (pbuh). And at first he rejected it and told them to wait a few more years. It was only after a few more years that they got married, and it was only after she herself believed she was ready was the marriage consumated. So if she didnt have a problem with it, I dont see why anyone else should. Oh wait thats right you didnt bother finding out all the facts first.
Your problem Abu is that your super imposing your ideas and beliefs and judging people of another time and culture by what you consider to be the norm. Which is incredibly short sighted.
Just because people today, dont get married till theirs 20s, 30s etc doesnt mean thats evolution, thats just life as you know it.
—
And I heard as it were, the noise of thunder. One of the four beasts saying come and see and I beheld, a pale horse. And his name that sat on him was Death... and Hell followed with him.
She was 6 when she got married and 9 when the marriage was consumated. No need to make anything palatable for the kaffirs and no need to be ashamed of anything. The will always find a fault with Islam until they are thrown headlong into the fire.
It is not about making things palatable.
It is about eg the hadith where Ummul Mu'mineen Aisha (ra) states that she was a young girl when a certain surah was revealed. If she was as young as mentioned in your post, she would have been minus one when that verse was revealed. Instead she states that she was a young girl at the time.
Secondly, Ummul Mu'mineen Aisha was around 10 years younger than her elder sister, who was 27 when Ummul Mu'mineen Hadhrat Aisha Siddeeqa's marriage was consumated.
There are other ahadith aswell.
Those that stick by 6 and 9 base it off a single account, which is in Sahih Bukhari. But they do not take into account arabic numbering customs. EG when talking about laylatul qadr, there is the saying that its on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 7th or ninth. You from previous context know that it means 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th - when the first digit was known, it was allowed to be ommitted and the same can apply to account for this.

Yes. However both sources I mentioned are from Sahih Bukhari and I am not discounting either - I am offering an explanation from arabic traditions as to how numbers were mentioned to explain the difference.

Anything in Bukhari has great merit and requires careful consideration and taken note of. As far as I know the majority of Hanafi scholars are of the opinion Aisha RA was 6 & 9.
Allah knows best.
Please don't put me in the same line with this lunatic kaffir Abu that is throwing filth on the character of Nabi You are very wrong about my identity.
Yes. However both sources I mentioned are from Sahih Bukhari and I am not discounting either - I am offering an explanation from arabic traditions as to how numbers were mentioned to explain the difference.
Agreed.
