How Do You Re-charge YOUR Batteries?

MuslimSister

Salaam

You know how sometimes a person feels spiritually low and far from Allah (swt).

Sometimes one lacks that high level of trust (tawakul) in Allah (swt) that they normally have…..dua’s decrease in intensity and the heart and soul become absent in prayer….

Sometimes the taunts and anti Islamic comments of people around them are taken to heart…sometimes one does not feel as Islamically at peace…..sometimes Islamic work becomes a struggle…..and ones spiritually batteries just feel low.

We all must feel like that from time to time

This may be due to a number of reasons…..in most cases its due to the environment (i.e. bad company) which negatively affects their level of Iman …..in other cases something bad has happened in that individuals life which has shook up their Iman…..sometimes its just because they’ve been sinning more then usual and as a result their hearts have become dirty….there are many many reasons…

So how do you re-charge YOUR spiritual batteries? How to you get that much needed Iman boost?

What type of charger do you use? What works for you?

Is it Dhikr? Is it good company? Is it Tobah? Is it intense conversation to Allah (swt) in the darkness of the night?

Do you start listening to lectures? Or do you wait for Ramadan to get that much needed Iman Boost?

We’re all different therefore obviously different things work for us…

Mr Admin easier said then done

that boy jacks all the munch at Iftar time

so instead of making dua-I'm usually fighting with him at Iftar time

we've all had massive kick offs with one another in the past over the last Samosa

Spending time in the Mosque usually helps me.

This is the analogy the Tablighi brothers use, when giving dawah to go out in the path of Allah.

Duniya(the Material World) is like the sea. Humans in Duniya are in the sea, some can swim well, some just about stay afloat, some are supported by rafts, many are drowning.

Those who have lost their charge, I guess are the ones who are drowning in Duniya.

Therefore for one to be saved from drowning to death, they must get out of the water, and then the water has to be taken out of them.

Spending time in the Mosque, out of the filthy sea of Duniya, in the prescence of fellow Muslims, in the House of Allah should recharge our batteries inshAllah.

Islamic programmes/gatherings and lectures usually delivered by charismatic speakers usually re-charge my batteries.

This is because there are special angels that roam the Earth, looking for gatherings of dhikr/remembrance. When they find a group they call one another and encompass the gathering in layers until the first heaven. After the gathering glorifies Allah (swt) the angels return to their lord…so naturally such a blessed gathering would spiritually re-energise an individual.

Ones Iman is like a rollercoaster…sometimes its high and sometimes it’s low.

We are told to take advantage of the times when our Iman is high.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Faith wears out in the heart of any one of you just as clothes wear out, so ask Allah to renew the faith in your hearts.”

Sometimes we slacken when it comes to those extra good deeds that we may do on a daily basis…but sometimes we slacken when it comes to the Fard act…the latter is considered blameworthy.

The Holy Prophet (saw), “Every deed has energy and strength, and then this energy and strength is followed by a slackening, so who’s slackening is in accordance to my Sunnah he will be fine, and who’s slackening is to other than that [i.e., doing unlawful or forbidden deeds] he will be doomed.” (Ahmad).

I feel like I have been washed out for a rather long time now.

I know the theory about recharging... but in practice... no effect.

yes  🙁

*DUST* — Sun, 15 Jan 2006 - 15:18
That is really bad then.

counter to what it should do.

Is there anything I can do on a structural level?
nah it is me that needs mending not the forum... 🙁

but note the 'sometimes' in MuslimSis's post.

yes  :(
Thing is...I often find myself laying awake in bed at night mentally screwing at some of the stuff people come out with in this forum...thinking of responses and/or laughing at other people's posts.

Thats bad....as I ALWAYS used to make heartfelt dua to Allah (swt) before bed since I was a little girl.

This forum increases the chattering of the mind...I mean its hard enough reading Salaah or doing dhikr without your mind wandering on wordly stuff as it is...this forum just adds to the waffle in ones mind.

I can't help but think it breaks up ones relationship with Allah (swt) but like you said...its not the forum thats the problem its us...

I need to get emotionally detached like I was when I first joined the forum.
I agree with all you guys, I think mostly for me the reason it is harmful is becuz i waste time on it way too much!
its harmful cos

1-wastes time

2-some resort to slander here

3-some bear grudges cos of disagreements

4-some are quick to post fatwa's-not caring about the consquences

5-some get personal (like me)

6-some fall in love here

so there are many disadvanatges to posting here :?

Beast — Sun, 15 Jan 2006 - 22:44

A simple solution would be for people to post less.

Maybe just leave a specific time in the day for the forum.

No need to check it every half hour or hour.

that solution is only for them who "waste too much time here"

what about the remaining ones I have have listed?

If everyone tries to cut down on posting then they're less likely to resort to slander, bear grudges, get personal, and/or fall in love. But then the forum will be boring.

Can't do much about the fatwa passing. Maybe create Fatwa Passers Anonymous thread.

lol there was a time here where I was slightly confused as to whether this was a forum or a dating service...

The "marriage proposal" from Dr. Loveguest was the straw that broke the Camel's back.

How do I recharge?

I stick my finger in a light socket.

Well it got pretty bad... there were a couple members who threatened (privately) to leave.

Of course we always threaten to leave... but nobody ever does.

Why are you anti-men lilsis?

We're not THAT bad.

Solutions to the following:
1-wastes time
As beast said try takin only a certain time of the day for the forum, not your whole life!
2-some resort to slander here
These people need some lessons on the consequences of slandering others!
3-some bear grudges cos of disagreements
People need to know this forum is a forum and not somethin that should dictate your life, if someone disagrees with you, correct them when need be otherwise just ignore them.
4-some are quick to post fatwa's-not caring about the consquences
These people need to be told leave the fatwa’s to the scholars!
5-some get personal (like me)
Keep it up, its fun 🙂 on a serious note, just try not to take anythin to heart and if you do get annoyed take time off forum..
6-some fall in love here
Now these people i dont have no sympathy for! Stop makin this ISLAMIC forum into a chat room and use bollywood chat! Oh yeh get a life cuz YOU CANT FALL IN LOVE OVER A DAMN FORUM! JEEZ.....
