"Mum, why do you always give me over cooked fish fingers? I like Fish Fingers a lot, but I don't really like the taste of the almost burned ones."
"Well, Sunnah, when I was a little girl you Grandad didn't know how to cook and used to grill fish fingers for me when ever my mum (may god rest her soul) wasn't home. And I used to love the crunchy ones, but he always used to take them from my plate. I really hated that, but didn't want to say anything as we lived in a different time. We never questioned what the elders done, we just had to accept it."
"He made me some Fish Fingers the other day and I put the over cooked ones in my plate because that's what you always give me, and you know what he said to me?"
"No Sunnah, I don't, but I have a feeling you're about to tell me?"
"OK, I'll tell you. He said 'like mother like daughter' He actually thought I'm like you. He told me that you always used to take the overcooked ones and he used to give you the fresh ones. He said when he was a child, the men used to go to the fields to work and they used to eat all the fresh stuff when they'd come fome for lunch and the women and children had the burned scrap leftovers. He said he really thought that was unfair and promised himself that he won't let his kids suffer with scrapps. So although he was a bad cook and burned some of the fish fingers, he would still pick out the good ones and let you have them. So he doesn't break the promise that he made to himself."
"OMG - really? He told you that? Why didn't he ever tell me that? I feel bad now. All those time when I thought greedy man is taking my crunchy fish fingers, he was actually trying to be kind to me?"

Eww- But this blog is incomplete! Once NS has had his ice-cream and travels back in time using his Back to the Future time machine, it will majically re-appear! (Im looking forward to it!)
Doctor Who reference?
I like mine fried rather than grilled, even if it is healthier.
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
To me grilled tastes better than fried. so I prefer grilled. despite them being "healthier".
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
I've never tried fried fish fingers..
With the current terrorist situation being the way it is, I was unable to get hold of Uranium for the car to go back in time with Doc. Can someone please help a Northern Southener and fix the glitch that lost my awesome blog post?
I like the Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers! One definitely leads to another!
What's this got to with the moral of my blog?
LOL, we havn't even seen the 'actual' blog yet, so its hard to identify the moral..
Do you think the admin team has had enough of my blagging and decided to just post the title of my blogs going forward as they find that more educational that the actual blog?
It's a conspiracy. I bet the illuminati are behind this.
Admin isn't mean like that! How can posting a question be educational besides finding out whether people like fish fingers or not? I like it when people are trying to make the forums active..
I told you, you can't get it back! Now start all over again! There is no such thing as 'drafts' as far as i know!
There IS a way of getting it back. It happened once before. On my first or second post and I emailed someone called "you" and then the blog post was fixed.
In face, I'm going to email "you" again. right now.
euh...oven cooked. i dont know if that's grilled. anyway. oven. used to have it fried but it just falls apart everywhere (not that it doesnt when oven cooked) but usually we have fish fingers and pizza and chips/garlic bread/waffles. so stuff all that in oven and TADA!
edit!!!!! YAYYYYYY FIRSSSSSSTTTTTT.
anyway. that is a beautiful story (even though..i dont know why i dont really like that last paragraph)
that aside. i just paused a maths video when i saw this was updated. this is not good. now i better shut up and get back to resultant forces.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
The last paragraph is supposed to say "Never judge someone until you know for certain what their intention for doing something is"
We often make assumptions on why our parents (and others) are doing certain things. But we shouldn't hold it against them until we have spoken to them and given them a chance to explain themselves.
Yippee! You never lost hope and it re-appeared
Hmm.. well thank you for clarifying ^ because I don't know if i got the message totally..
Well 'now' we're living in an age when the children (including myself) don't keep their mouths shut. It 'is' normally a case of saying what you don't like whenever you feel like it, so the parents are already given a chance to explain themselves besides when the kids are just being very loud and in the face!
I actually bothered to watch that 'maths video' and I think, when i'A i do my A-Levels, that website will definitely come in handy! I watched it right until the end and told myself 'I Love Maths!'
Predictable.
