Kicking yourself doesnt always make you do better.
Sometimes its healthier to see the good in yourself and what you want to accomplish instead of any percieved negatives as too many negatives and you will only want to destoy yourself.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
err
Stop it!
You aren't any of those things!
Insha'Allah tomorrow will be a new day and a new start - you can fix whatever you think is wrong and stop putting yourself down.

Wow! I don't know what Lilly's on about but i really needed those reminders i hate having low self esteem...so
Thanks!

actually i found that word. its selfish.
that's it exactly. i was selfish. but im good now. coz i made duah to not be selfish anymore.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Glad hear that Lilly...but it's ironic that i came here to profess a bit of selfishness. I woke up today feeling better too only had about 3 hours sleep but
Someone once said "fake a smile and it might turn real" << works everytime, will never forget that.
Lets reunite the ummah under one flag LA ILAHA IL ALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
good to hear. hmm..fake a smile eh? i'd say i have a different take on this. im more the "fake a smile and it will look real"
but yeah..today's a new day! selfishness go away!!
and sometimes its good to figure out whats "wrong" with you. so you dont do the stuff that would make you feel crap again. and so you will inshaaAllah never feel that way again!
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
I don't think i'll ever stop doing the things that make me feel crap again. Cause usually for a moment just before i do it i think it'll make me feel good. Who'd want to do something that they know week make them feel crap, i mean if it benefits no one at all. Yet i myself an admit to doing those things, why do we do it i wonder?
Insha Allah i'll be steadfast, no better way of thinking than thinking positive (and rationally).
I'm so tired, i need to spend my time doing things of benefit yet procrastinating is so much easier than going to the gym. Man it's hard getting out o ba habits. Need to make an effort though.
My life's one crazy rollercoaster. Need to get off it and make my own path instead of following the tracks cause sometimes things just move too fast. Need to maintain control.
(that's one wierd, crazy chain of thought...yet i call Lilly crazy, lets blame her)

I'll try and remember that

Im sure u will inshaaAllah. When you do something that you dislike for long enough, you'll end up hating it and thats when the change comes usually. Change isnt something that's easy, never was and never will be. At the Steps to Allah conference, shaykh Abu Abdissalam spoke about heaven on earth and how to achieve it. He said it was the key to attaining heaven in the hereafter was to attain heaven on this earth and you do that through worship; acts of worship. I think sometimes we just need to be reminded of things we already know, but were too blind to see at a time in your life when you need it most.
These reminders are small but fundamental to our happiness in this life and fulfilling our purpose. Cos sometimes we forget why were living this life, I know I do and every time I do its the biggest mistake of my life and I defenitely suffer the consequences. We all do, in one way or another. Its like in that 'Who are the people of Taqwa' blog. NAK mentioned how Allah mentions things in the Quran often, because we forget and the bigger the matter, the more frequent the reminder!
They say with knowledge comes action and its true. If you decide that you need to make a change, make it today, don't wait for a tomorrow that is not guaranteed. Abu Abdissalam continued by saying that making the change will be painful.
It will be painful to make a change, to perform an action that the nafs dislikes. Our nafs sometimes has a stronghold over us that it should not be having, but it does because we've let it happen by giving in to whims and desires all too easily. So it will be painful the first time, the second time and perhaps the third time, but there will come a time, where it won't be painful; even enjoyable! Think about the first time u started waking up fajr regularly. Can u imagine urself missing it now? He used tahajjud prayer as an example, but I think its a reminder that you can use to establish any good habits, though of course the habits of worhip are the best and will help make the obtaining of other good things in this life easy. BUT did he just finish there? Nope! He said it might even become painful AGAIN after a while! So what do we do then? Thats right, we continue fighting the pain again. Like I said, its no easy struggle, but WHYYYYYY are we struggling? Ask yourself that Q!
We all know about Jannah, weve read and heard the description of it, but even just reminding yourself of it again, will help you achieve whatever it is you need to get you there. Our final abode inshaaAllah and remember we want nothing but the best right? Sometimes we just need a simple reminder to set our lives aright.
(Btw im not picking on you Jim Bob, its just that ur post reminded me of this and it was a reminder that helped me so just wanted to share with yousse lot.
PS: Why is the response on the brother side ALWAYS and ONLY limited to Hur al Ain whenever someone mentions Jannah? Honestly!
"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest"
:') thank you, thank you and thank you...Alhamdulillah! I don't are if you was picking on me or not (obviously you weren't) i needed this all i can say is that verily Allah is the best of planners...
You know how in films no matter how tough the situation gets the good guys always win in the end...even if it's in the last second when you think there's no hope. That is ofcourse because it is scripted so it's bound to happen. Well Allah has already written our scripts...so the good guys no matter how many times they may fall, how many times it seems like it's over, no matter what they'll be victorious in the end. "verily Allah is the best of planners".
Seriously...lots and lots of duas for Billz...Masha Allah. You seem to always know just what i need when i need it most. Jazakllah khair...May Allah always keep you strong on the deen and grant you ease and patience at times of difficulty. Assalamu alaikum
It's not the only thing (i can only speak for myself)...it's just that Allah created guys with certain desires...tis why Allah knows us best. I'm sure girls got some desires too...Hur ul Kitchens??? Joke
Anyway, all i can say is that Alhamdulillah that Allah knows us better than women

Shahr bin Jaushab (Allah be pleased with him) says:
“I asked Umme Salma (The Mother of the Believers, Allah be pleased with her) ‘What was the supplication (dua) most often made by the Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in his house?’
She replied that Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to recite,
O the Controller of hearts! Make my heart firm on Your Deen.
(Tirmizi)
Why? Because:
"And know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart."
"Yes, for the hearts are between two of Allah's Fingers, He changes them (as He wills)."
This is the same narration recorded by At-Tirmidhi in the Book of Qadar in his Jami' Sunan, and he said, "Hasan.'' Imam Ahmad recorded that An-Nawwas bin Sam`an Al-Kilabi said that he heard the Prophet saying,
«مَا مِنْ قَلْبٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ الرَّحْمَنِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يُقِيمَهُ أَقَامَهُ وَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يُزِيغَهُ أَزَاغَه»
(Every heart is between two of the Fingers of the Most Beneficent (Allah), Lord of all that exists, if He wills, He makes it straight, and if He wills, He makes it stray.)
«وَالْمِيزَانُ بِيَدِ الرَّحْمنِ يَخْفِضُهُ وَيَرْفَعُه»
The Balance is in the Hand of Ar-Rahman, He raises and lowers it
"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest"
Wa iyyak. Thanks again for the duas and the naseeha. Ameen
