For me,
-the happiness of a child i've never met
-the thought that an orphan will eat tonight
-the idea that a child will learn something that will save his or her life
-the concept of giving hope to children who have seen what no child should have ever seen
for me, this is more important than writing a personal statement about how amazing i am because of the life opportunities that have come my way that i have no control over, its more important than selling myself to a university which only wants the top of everything and dont really care about Lilly, its more important than summarizing my life in 4,000 words.
so, during charity week. i didnt touch my personal statement and devouted myself to this cause. to what mattered.
-----
for me, signign a petition and getting people to sign a petition to stop a family from being chucked out their home because a man was sent to prison is more important than applying to uni.
#reasons why i like myself# im becoming more and more like the one i wanted to be.
NOW, altruism, humanity, selflessness and all them other awesome and posh words aside, I better stop finding excuses (however elaborate and awesome sounding) to get this personal statement done.
personal statement: last modified 14th october 2011.

Shouldn't you have already sent your UCAS application off, since you were going to apply to Cambridge :S

GRINNNOOOOO
im too cool for cambridge.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Don't kill me but
Doesn't it defeat the purpose a bit if you go on about how great you are and all the things you've done?

im dissing myself. by saying that all my great "work" was actually just excuses to get out of writing the PS. and that even THOSE excuses failed.
only two things ive mentionned here is take part in charity week and get people to sign a petition. how is that "all the things i've done"?
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
huh? ok, then I just don't get it.

did you read my whole comment? "by saying that all my great "work" was actually just excuses to get out of writing the PS. and that even THOSE excuses failed."

TBF, I didn't work out you were dissing yourself either.

so what did you think the blog was abt?
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Yeah I did, but I thought your overall message was there are a lot more humanitarian things that are much more important than a personal statement. Which imo is true but apparently not what you were getting at.
