"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

DO NOT ignore the CALL of Allah! DO NOT forget to pray five times!
Would you like Allah to forget you & ignore you in your times of need?

Well said.. So short yet so effective, I like these quotes! Smile

Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man's growth without destroying his roots.

-

Beneficial knowledge is that which increases your fear of Allah Most High, improves your ability to discern the faults of your ego, discloses to you the plots and delusions of the Devil, and makes you more cognizant of how to worship your Lord

-

On the authority of Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari who reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Sadaqah (alms) is enjoined on every Muslim." They (the people) said, "Suppose one cannot afford it?' He said, "He should work with his hands so that he may benefit himself and give in charity." They said, "If he cannot work or does not work?" He said, "Then he should help the oppressed unhappy person (by word or action or both)." They said, "If he does not do it?" He said, "Then he should enjoin what is good." They said, "If he does not do that?'' He said, "Then he should refrain from doing evil, for that will be considered for Him as a Sadaqah (charity). "

Oh ALLAH, I have no money, but I have You. I am rich.

Oh ALLAH, I have... no freedom, but I believe in You. I am free.

Oh ALLAH, I have no patience, but I read Your Quran. I am calm.

Oh ALLAH, I get no respect, but You listen to my Dua. I am proud.

Oh ALLAH, I have no time, but I think of Jannah. I have forever.

Oh ALLAH, I have much time, but I look at Your Signs. I have today.

Oh ALLAH, I feel so weak, but I fast Ramadan. I am strong.

Oh ALLAH, I feel so tired, but I make dua. I open my eyes.

Oh ALLAH, I feel so dirty, but I repent to You. I am cleansed.

It's cool that you can randomly ask your sister what she's done for the akhira, and she actually has a long list of stuff. I'd be shocked at the Q, alone.

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

That's cause to you it's a surprising question, not one you'd expect. Obviously if it were the first tike i ever asked her a question like that she'd be shocked too.

Have to say though she shocked me with her answer, when i usually ask a Q like that she'd be like " i dunno" , girls getting smart, need to up my game.

Hey lovely people! How are you?

I am looking to go on holiday in the next couple of weeks with my husband inshallah.

Can anyone recommend any destinations that you have been to personally and liked, accomodation etc?

I am thinking of a few but want to know what place would be worthwile and this I can only know if someone has experienced it, any place outside of the UK which is going to be sunny near end of nov.

So please help Smile

well everywhere on the south of the equator is like..getting into summer, so thats a good place to look, then there's mauritius!!!!!

then there's Syria. syria's awesome, but the fact that we went in a group with everythng organized for us might have helped a lot. not that syria wouldnt be awesome without all the planned stuff, but if you go with a guide an stuff, its just that you get to see all the good places.

aleppo
palmira
damascus - abu Noor (you can also get an arabic course which would be everymorning - we went for a month so that was nice, otherwise there wouldnt be much to do)

seaside resort (is it a resort, you basically go and book a "house" (someone's real house but they left for now or something) and live there and the seaside is basically across the road) when we were at the "resort" for a week or so we also had trips organised, we drove up in the mountain and saw this lady cooking DELICIOUS break thingies in one of them traditional ovens. then there was a trip to an island where we got to eat fish (i think that was a big deal coz for some reason there dont seem to be fish much in Syria - or something like that, i was too young for this, gimme chips brekky lunch and dinner and im pretty much sorted)

bosra

you get to see that monastery where the monk told abu Talib that muhammad (pbuh) was a prophet and showed him the seal of prophethood. tis awesome.

egypt sounds good too.

I went to one in my dream the other night. Can't remember how long it took to get there but must have been short cos my dream didn't even acknowledge the flight. It was lovely weather. I looked out for postcards. Some sharks came and ruined the ending but otherwise I would recommend it. I'm sorry I can't help you with names, location or description of place.

Sounds like Australia (what with their recent killer sharks news stories).

If you are a lords of the Rings fan, New Zealand may be more appealing.

Indonesia will have more halaal food though.

and Tunisia much closer and likely to have warm weather.

probably not the greatest weather-wise, but Turkey is cheap in November.
