MashAllah, congrats! Nah dnt take it slow! You want to do the opposite! These things are always very flexible, so it wont even impact on anything else ya might be doing.

I think he means it might be too ambitious to learn a lot in 6months. Arabic is pretty hard and theres no point trying to get too much done in a little amount of time, since you most likely wont be able to learn properly and in the end it'll be a waste. Best to focus properly and get whatever you can done, done.

Eating's cheating

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ

By the Night as it conceals (the light);

وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

By the Day as it appears in glory;

وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ

By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;-

إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ

So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah),

وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ

And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,-

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss.

وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ

But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient,

وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ

And gives the lie to the best,-

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery;

وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ

Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit).

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ

Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide,

وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ

And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning.

فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ

Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely;

لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى

None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones

الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs.

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى

But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,-

الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification,

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ

And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,

إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ

But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High;

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ

And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction.

-Qur'an, surah no. 92 Al-lail-

Subhanallah!!! Well the guidance is here, up to us to follow insha Allah.

Just memorized half of this surah today, yay me Alhamdulillah 😃 (which is a big improvement from not attempting it as it looked to long and confusing). Another 10 ayats to go insha Allah 🙂
