The "civilised world" wants a two state solution between Israel and Palestine...
Except now that the Palestinians are taking this solution to the UN, all hell breaks loose.
The US says it will veto it, Israel is dead set against and even Tony Blair has risen from the lower regions of hell to try and stir against it.
I guess they all want a two state solution as long as it is not real.

It seems that Mahmood Abbas is looking to cave in to the pressure.
This is the guy who already has manage to almost single handedly destroy Palestinian unity.
and now he just wants to save his reputation instea of actually accomplishing anything.
Just who is he working for?
Certainly not the Palestinian people.

It wouldn't be stupid if they actually were willing and able to negotiate for a settlement, but that is not the case.
There are questions and even this is symbolic after which they would have to return to megotiations anyway, so it could be argued that they are putting the cart before the horse.
Re: The "civilised world" wants a two state solution between ...
Obama tells the Palestinians that there is no shortcut to statehood.

63 years is no shortcut.
How about any path at all? That would be a start.
But the only solution offered is one where the Palestinians continue to lose land while "negotiations" go on.
It seems that Mahmood Abbas, AKA the stooge who divided the Palestinians, will cave in.

It seems like the cop out solution of "one day, it will be voted on" really was taken.
All the boldness but just in words for now.
