Do not compare Islam with a muslim

Assalamu Alykum Brothers and sisters

' Do not compare Islam with a Muslim ' because not every Muslim does what Islam teaches them to do.

Whilst listening to a lecture called ' The purpose of life' i was struck by these words!

Some people see so called Muslims harming innocent people and think that EVERY single Muslim is the same.

Theres an old saying ' dont judge a book by its cover'
when i listened to this lecture and the same thing was said in an Islamic term i thought to myself ' Why cant people just open there eyes?'.

I will be honest with you all and admit that Before Islam i was one of those people who judged and thought ' There all the same'
Well Alhamduillah to Allah for guiding me and showing me that i was so wrong!!!

There are good people and bad people in the world there are Muslims who are trying there hardest to be good people and there are muslims who have a totally warped idea of there religion...these people ( im not even going to call them muslim) are causing so much trouble for the good people DO THEY HAVE NO FEAR?
THEY ARE DISOBEYING ALLAH.

When i was talking to my family and 'friends' about converting i got all the same things thrown at me ' Dont be getting brainwashed' ' You will have to walk 10 steps behind ur husband' ' you will never be accepted because you are white' ' There all the same ' sitting there i was gritting my teeth thinking ' you are all so far away from Allah' ' you are so far away from what Islam really is and you SOUND SO STUPID BECAUSE YOU HAVENT GOT A CLUE!

I hope Inshallah that i can reach out to British people who have this kind of idea of Islam and its people and show them that it cant be that bad! i mean hey im a white english girl who converted because she fell in love with Islam!

Yeh agree with you sis anisah, people may call themselves muslims but it has to also show in their way of life that they are following the sunnah of the Holy Prophet (saw)..its a shame though many ppl are confused as to what islam is exactly..

I think sis's like yourself who have come from a different understandin and have embraced islam are able to help others who have a diff. perspective of islam.

People don’t know what Islam is because no body cares about what’s written in the Koran…

The Koran says oppression is worse then murder. I told my Taliban mate this and he called me a “kafir”… (well he never actually saw what he did as ‘oppression’ but it clearly was)

The Koran also says Muhammad will complain to God at the day of reckoning that his ummah went against the Koran… interesting stuff really…

you've expressed valid concerns in this topic. unfortunately i dont see the situation changing any time soon, as humans are judgemental by nature and we as muslims cannot attempt to change every single non-muslim's view of our religion. we can however influence individuals by our character - as u sed, not every muslim does what islam teaches them to do so maybe we should all make an effort to improve ourselves as muslims, and bring our muslim brothers/sisters back to true Islam; addressing such a problem at the grass roots level will inshaAllah be more effective.

We’re looking for Pakiz anyway, if you work in the construction industry come along. With the oil running out we’re building loads of hotels and shopping centres to turn it into a massive tourist resort, if you work in the construction industry your help will be much appreciated. Its gonna look fab once its all done! Although Arabic is the official Language Urdu and English are widely spoken (so is Hindi and Persian) so you deffo won’t have any problems when it comes to opening your big gob!
