Since he hasn't verified and the answers are pretty vague too, you can make it mean whatever you want to Wink Blum 3

i dont think people can perform miracles, nu-uh...

You mean Humans? then yes... All Prophets were Humans and I recall Prophetic work was quite miraculous, was it not? But then Prophets were special humans

ordinary humans? well it's all planned... so whatever we do is not really a miracle, isn't it just God's work?

Depends on what and how you see it. The more proud and egotistic people would just see it as JUST their hard work and then add God later on cos it feels right to do so.

So miracle is just a name that people give those circumstances that are quite positive and seem literally impossible and leave you with a face quite like :o and everyone around you joins in by saying "I can't believe it!"

Miracles and statistics

I would say that the miracles the prophets performed were also due to Allah (swt) and any other miracles...

My point precisely.

So yes Humans can and do perform "miracles" but only because Allah would have willed it.

yh i see what u mean, but i guess im a bit :doubt: about the actual wording of it...if you say human CAN perform miracles it seems as if humans naturally have the ability to do so, which......they dont. (does that make sense)

That is not just miracles. That is every single act from breathing to sleeping to something even more mundane. It cannot be done without the will of God allowing/commanding it so.

EDIT

My reply is "yes, humans can do miracles just as they can breath. Neither can happen outside the power provided by God, and who are we to limit what God decides to bless certain individuals with?"

Agreed.

i think us as humans cant do miracles
we can do big and great things if it is the will of allah
but we can only pray for miracles and it shall be answerd insh'allah

i dont believe that we, as humans, can do miracles.

just like we, as humans, cant breathe. its exactly the same thing as Admin, except looked the other way.

i believe we cant do owt without Allah (subhanahou wata'ala)'s helped.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

To state the obvious!

But just because you can't do anything W/O Allah's will doesn't mean they're not miracles - e.g what the Prophet's (PBUT) did, they were miracles yet it was what Allah willed.

Maybe I am being all positive and hopeful in this topic. Hope.

i didnt think the "we" included prophets. Prophets is different.

Allah(swt) can give the powers to other people too though. And i think people believe that certain people do/did have special powers?

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

Prophets (as) are special. Because God made them so.

Remember that everything they (as) do, their power is from no source other than God (swt).

yeah your right lilly, i mean us
the prophets were all special and able to do miracles by the will of Allah.
we on the other hand i dont think we can do miracles.
if we were all able to do miracls to what different would we be from the prophets themselves? agree or disagree?

The difference would be the recieving of revelation or direct guidance - Mircales were not the only reasons for prophets to exist.

A miracle done by prophets are calld Mu'jiza.
A miracle done by non prophets are called karamat.

aren't the definitions of the word what he has said? Or is there more to it? If they're not the actual definitions then explain please Smile

I think there is a story in the qur'an about one of the followers of a prophet doing a miracle.

It is about Queen Sheba who was on her way to meet a Prophet (as) (Prophet Soloman (as)?) and the Prophet (as) wanted her throne to be present when she arrived. A jinn offered to bring it but the Prophet (as) said no, that would take too long. Then one of the sahabis of the prophet (as) said he would bring it within the blink of an eye.

you truly are the only one who can quote Ayahs of the Quran. in that funky way.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

its actually pretty simple.

[ qs : Suran Number : Verse Number ] where the Verse Number can be a single number (38) or a range of numbers (38-40).
