what do you mean?

If you mean displaying the gender of the poster like most other forums do then - No. No one needs to know my gender, although it may become obvious when you're a regular.

If you mean the way they communicate with each other - that's upto the individual - unless moderating starts to go on.

It's serious enough, when it needs to be,IMO. Just most people are laid back and informal which is what attracts certain people to this forum. Probably, especially the younger audience.

no! defo no displaying of gender. more like moderating of communication. obviously when with new members or members you're not familiar with then its gona be okay coz you dont even know their gender, but with the more regular members.

and yeah, self control should do the thing, but sometimes we need to be reminded. (and okay, we're all pretty much friends together so we can get reminded through pm by friends) but for all newcomers it gives this serious feeling to it and might make it more approachable and less like a hooligan, suppoedly muslim site. Make us look more responsible to the rest of the muslim forums world.

Hmm, it's a good point, personally i think there should be more moderation but then only to a certain extent. We need to stop rambling off point and making the place look like a 'playground' (ok I need to). But then if we were always stopped of doing that then it'd just get boring and too formal - theres plenty of other forums like that if anyone wants to go join them!

There more important kinds of potential fitna that should be moderated.

Anyway how would you moderate tribune?

actually i was looking at other forums and had this urge to run back to tribune, they all sound so growed up and complicated...

yep, defo, arguments and insulting, even though they dont happen often, it shouldnt happen, but i guess that might be a downside of the "light" moderating we have.

the thing with Revival is that its a pretty small community so tellig off can get kinda awkward...

tribune: people just stay away. and no you dont need to be logged in to post. "GWannabee"

There are too many other sites like that and I think generally people are able to take ownership of their own conduct.

The problem with rules is that they can lack context etc.

If this place was the same as all the other places, it would have no reason to exist.
