There's loads of topics that we always need to go search for because the topic is always open. and well..searching is good but having a section with all of them already there is better (imo)

im talking about topics like
"career advice"
"prayer"
"books"
etc...

of course, im voting yes.

Admin doesn't like lots of sections and i remember reading somewhere that people like this forum because its simple - hasn't got lots of sections.

I also like the simplicity of it even though i can see the benefits of having separate sections. Anyway you'd still need to search for topics in those sections unless they're only gna stay on like one page!

i know, i love the fact that there isnt lots of sections. its kinda overwhelming and itimidating when its all divided and that.

but timeless topic would be more like something not everyone can create in, maybe the topics start off in General but when they keep guetting bumped or new topics are always created that are similar they could get moved to this section and hence we wont get the repetiton of similar topics being created.

and there wouldnt be THAT many topics, as most would be kept broad and hence we wont need THAT many.

I like the idea of not creating duplicates, but then those topics would get too big and that wouldn't be helpful either.

So the 'timeless' section would look something like this:
Marriage
Bfs & GFs
Shia, Sunni, Salafi Brelwi, deobandi, blah blah blah
Salah (?)

😛

i notice the fact that "marriage" is first on your list 😛

well..we could have then a little bit more broken down, like "marriage partners" and "marriage expectations" and "marriage - the event" etc...

plus, they might get bigger but admit it, if you wanted to know something would you bother to reread a 4 page topic about osmething that sounds like its on the topic you want to know more about or just reask the question?

there arent going to get THAT big, there's a limited amount of stuff you can talk about in one topic with the extend of our knowledge.

I was just putting them into categories

Depends how long they are and how much time i have. With such topics you get lots of quick replies so it wouldn't matter and id bother to read them as they're being posted rather than sitting there reading a whole load at once. Also with some topics new people can bring in new ideas and opinions

There are articles on the site that can be timeless, and if you have a look at the quick links on the left, some of them that are not related to current affairs will also be sort of timeless.

"Back to Basics" is supposed to be basic Islamic knowledge.
Questions and Answers are supposed to be Islamic questions and answers, same with Relationships and marriage, women, misconceptions.

Maybe we do need to emphasise them more though.

how do topics end up there?
tag them with the appropriate name/category - e.g "relationships & marriage"
Relationships or marriege - the two tags which have content listed there are "relationships" and "marriage" (I made the title for there be more readable by changing it to an and.)

It is not a perfect system though and sometimes people go overboard with useless tags.

Personally I think this site has its originality. All the other forums out there tend to have the same style whereas 'The revival' is unique. I don't think more sections should be added :/ Its simplicity is what makes it different 🙂

She meant stopics tht are always relevant.

Like how to pray, or ahadith and articles about stuff that are not related to specific events or current affairs. Mostly fiqh sort of affairs.
