footage of time traveller in 1928 charlie chaplin film?

You

Its a woman with a mobile phone in a 1928 film.

BBC News article.

Video of the clip along with the person who found it talking about it - going on and on and on:

So... most important question - how many minutes and texts she got on her package?

Just so everyone knows, the footage starts at 2:38 into the video.

My explanation is that it is a silent movie, she is an old extra, she is carrying a prop near her ear and she is trying to understand what the director is saying. He is probably trying to get her to keep moving and get off the set, or maybe he just wants her to stop covering her ear. Maybe not exactly that but given how those films were made a host of explanations is likelier than the one this producer is milking (he screened this at a film festival and starts this YouTube presentation by promoting his own obscure movies). I don't know anything he doesn't know so, why is he claiming she must be a time-traveller? Go figure.

I have posted that explanation to YouTube but it is fast being buried.

fwiw 🙂

Thanks to TPOS i only watched the footage 🙂
Could it not have been a walkie talkie - oh wait C.C = 1920's, W.T = 1940's i think - scratch that!
Random comment: does anyone else think a combination of Laurel and Hardy (loved them) would look like Charlie Chaplin? (I always did)

I used to watch Laurel and Hardy everyday :D
They were before my time really.
LOL and we're AFTER your time (s.b.f - right?)

The rather large guy with brains and the skinny one without - well kinda anyway!

I used to watch it with my pops.

Boring!

Laurel and Hardy used to come on at 12noon during school holidays. I used to always have my lunch ready, put the telly on and then watch it 🙂

I miss those times.

Ive seen this video before.

Its quite interesting. I remember thinking who'se he talking to? There would be no satellite coverage or reception?? But if hes a time traveller than i guess they would have some sort of long wave receptions thingy... maybe hes got a sonic screw driver i dont know.

Still baffling.

Ofcourse the logical conclusion is that its either a fake video or he's not actually doing what we think he's doing. Seeing isnt always believing.
