Kiss Me Baby!

I think there are levels of gratuitousness the public can handle, making out for an hour in a public park to the point people are afraid somebody is going to get pregnant... ya might have crossed the line.

On the contrary when I kissed my wife at the Rockefeller Center about 100 people were applauding...

It's all about appropriateness

I still don't understand why everyone is so bothered with what OTHERS do?

truthfully i get pretty nauseous around 16 year olds devouring each others faces... thats about the only way I can describe it... they've got zero finess or class, it's disgusting.

makes me wonder if i ever looked like that

lol

tell me about it...

totally agree with you

its utterly sickening!

some of you guys are too uptight :? What's inappropriate with a husband kissing his wife in a non sexual way as Omrow put it i.e on the forehead? I can understand my parents seeing this as a big no no. But us the so called new generation. It's scary to think some of us are taking up our parents senseless attitudes.

Also someone mentioned how our parents refer to each other without their names. In my culture it's the same, and it's plain stupid, coz no one can tell me why except "shut up it's not allowed, don't ask why"????So if their eldest child's name is Hasan you'll hear the husband address his wife as "hasan's mother there's a phone call for you". If it's the other way round "hasan's dad there's a phone call for you" :? Nothing wrong with it just i prefer to be called by my name, it's more personal, and it gives me a sense of actually existing.

I've heard bengalis do this a lot "oi hell-law can you hear me up there, there's phone call for you" (oi hell-law..hello with a benga accent)loooool. I think it's utterly rude.

I call my husband by his name coz er um that's what names are for so you don't have to say oi, hello etc etc. I know my parents are a little uncomfy with it, but my mother in law hasn't voiced disapproval so they can't say much.

And couples use nicknames for each other, they're terms of endearment, when you lot are married you'll be using them yourselves, right now you can't fathom that moment and just cringe at the thght Lol

What's wrong with showing public affection for kids???? i can't believe it was even mentioned

aherm what's wrong with husband and wife eating from the same plate even in public. i haven;t done so but explain please :? Are my thghts too liberal or something :?

yep that is so true, its so rude, lolz the funniest one is "thor baaf/maar re de" "give it to your father/mother" it just seems that much more ruder in bengali.I find the "oi"extremely rude[/color]

The absolute WORST is when relies take greetings too far.

I just do the usual salaams, but ive had relies who'll go in for a hug (cringe) or even a peck on the cheek (dies of a heartattack from cringing).

Hugs aren't that bad, especially if you haven't seen the person for a long time.

Peck on the cheek, well, that's something else. Are you talking about guys doing this? For Arabs this is normal.

im not that bad...Even though i could have being (just tryped "ladette to lady" inyoutube and watched the first mlink :s )..tomboys are pretty decent...

but there's a limit at how tomboyish you can be when you wear headscarf/jilbaab full time, only have female friends and try to be a good muslimah...

you dont really imagine me like that do ya?

But you get my point right? and I think happens anyway with age.

now im controversial in that way, its got nothing to do with you, but i now have this urgent need to stay tomboyish until im grown up...
