A Level and GCSE results days 2010

You

I believe today is the results day for A Levels.

Reading the Guardian Live blog, it mentions that the pass rate is 97.6%.

The blog does have some remarkable insight into A Levels too:

7.58am: Amusingly, as we are looking for photographs of people receiving their results to beautify this blog - as yet we can only find pictures of girls. By some lucky twist of fate also all appear to be incredibly attractive! I knew A Level students were becoming cleverer by the year, but better looking too? And blonder? Lucky, lucky, Britain.

So anyone here who was expecting results today?

Inshallah it all went well?

On a more worrying front for those that may not have got the results they wanted, there are apparently fewer places overall and fewer clearing places this year too - clearing places being down from 32,000 to 20,000. Something to do with a quota system from the government where they want to fund less people.

International students who would be paying over the odds to get on their courses have more choice here, but they can also get arrested without real evidence and have their lives ruined...

UK students urged to go Dutch amid place shortage

With tens of thousands of would-be students likely to be turned away from UK universities this year and degree costs set to rise, higher education institutions in the Netherlands are promoting themselves as an alternative for British students.

They say there are still plenty of places left for this year and the costs of studying abroad could, for some students, be less than staying in Britain.

2Cs, 4Bs, 7As [well 6 but one of the subject=2 GCSEs], 1 distinction and 1 distinction*

BUZZZZZZZZZZZING with happyness! 😃 😃

i got the 2 Cs i predicted but not for the right subject. I thought it'd be for spanish but it was actually for physics (and maths).

Honestly SO suprised by spanish result.I opened my envelope and looked at the results, saw the Ds and was like then realised it was distinction. But i still didn't really register it all. I went outside and my friend was like what did you get for spanish and i looked and i saw an ...A! i actually shouted I'VE GOT AN A FOR SPANISH!

Oh and THANK YOU, for everyone who did dua for me!
