Didn’t go to work today so actually had a fairly free-ish day. It was productive.
Firstly I finished reading the Qur’an (I read the latter half with the English translation as well as a commentary – which I was very proud of – oh and it was only latter half because my pops gave me this specific Qur’an when I was around half way). I actually had a buzzing feeling when I read the End-of-Qur’an Du’a and am hoping to start it again tomorrow, after I pray Fajr which means that the next time I read the Du’a it’ll be when I’ve finished reading the Arabic, the English, anddd the commentary InshaAllah! (Big accomplishment.. for me anyway)
Secondly - wait we'll get there in a bit.. I hope
Ok so back to the topic at hand, ‘Tying up a couple of loose ends’, I just thought I’d kinda use this space to include a measly one or two sentences (ok a paragraph.. or two) about yesterdays post which was umm oh yes ‘Endless possibilities’ – “possibility” even (I had to check).
So Recap.
At 19.42, I texted (or ‘sent a text to’ – “texted” is easier even if it doesn’t sound proper) ‘?!’ and then when my sister came home I told her basically what I told all of you and we decided (LIEEE, LIEEE LIAAARR! Fine, fine, fineeee SHE didn’t decide.. I, me, myself, Truth’s_Razors decided) that I would call the number to see who answered (141 of course) anddd no one did.
So that was a dead end. There was no reply to the text and no answer. HOWEVERRRRR one additional thing that I did find, is that the person is on Orange.
And how do you know that? I hear you ask. Well I got kinda irritated that there was no reply after the first, second or third ring so I decided to keep it ringing just to be horrible (if they were sleeping etc, kinda like a ringing to say ‘WAKE THE HECK UP’ but in whatever ringtone the person has), and suddenly the lovely recorded voice said ‘welcome to Orange…’ I hung up. How exasperating!
I have half a mind just to post the number on here but I think maybe I shouldn’t.. Maybe.
Well that wasn’t a paragraph or two and I know it wasn’t a couple of loose ends but really just one but hey you should know by now that I don’t (or can’t actually) tell a short story – smileeee (notice how I changed the “grinnnooo”, I prefer ‘grinnooo’ though, smileeee seems like I’m telling you to smile which I’m not, well you can if you want to but I’m neither telling you to nor am I telling you not to, whatever).
Ahhh ok so I’m running out of time here, only a few minutes before today’s post becomes tomorrows post (time wise!)
I’m outta here!
Comments
exactly two minutes.
so..whats happening now??!!
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Big accomplishment indeed. that makes me feel worse than yesterday when my mum was like "your aunty's niece has already finished one Qur'an in Ramadhan, how much have you read?!"
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
mashallah Truth's Razor!
But how much do you guys read per day?! I'm reading about 21 pages per day, and sometimes i found myself not finishing it =/ (and im only reading the arabic, and sometimes a bit of the translation when i get curious)
if i was to read the translation AND the arabic, i dont think i would be able to finish it in one month..
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Lol, well as much as i want the mystery to suddenly reveal itself, i kind of think not trying to find out may be the best thing. Although of course i may decide to contact this number again in the (near?) future in hope that i (or rather we all) will find out who it the number belongs to, and as soon as i know you will know too!
We'll say it's a To Be Continued
Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)
The Power of Silence - Lol my mum does that too.. a LOT!
Lilly - I read only a few pages, i kinda want to try to absorb and understand what i've read (the english and commentary)rather than speeding through it mindlessly. I wish i could finish it all by the end of the month but i highly doubt it'll happen even if i try!
Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)
Hmm, well good luck with finishing the Holy Qur'an, and good luck with finding out who your secret/prank caller is....
Love is a serious mental disease.
@ Truth's_Razors - if anything sticks out to you in the commentary, it could be good to enlighten us all in the forums too. Feel free to create topics about the bits that hit you or inspire you most.

If we read about 4 pages after each salaah everyday we would be able to finish the qur'an in a month.
about 20 pages per juz. 4x5=20
20x30 = 1 qur'an
I read the commentary and translation too when i'm reading, but not always. i watch this programme on channel 843 at 1 which explains a juz everyday and also that blog on aggrigator looks good. I started reading it on my fone last night but it was too long so i thought id read it online properly but then i forgot...
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
I took over an hour (i think) to get through the last few Surahs (before the end) so i reallyyyy don't think i'll get it done in a month =S
Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)
but you learnt/understood more. and that is something.

No need to panic - it was just an honest mistake. And I was cruel to pounce on it as a point of humour.
