...and by-the-by, 'You' said he did not claim to have studied anything. He has studied. Perhaps he didn't want to 'show off' with his knowledge, yet I can see how it could also be seen as an attempt to mislead.

That is just laughable.

Information comes from books, not knowledge. Books are aids in studying knowledge but to suggest a scholar of his rank got his knowledge from books. You should look at the teachers he studied with and got ijazah's from. Just the amount of teachers he had is astounding.

I think she has always considered it a competition. Look at the fear of phrobia topic where I assumed it was a discussion instead of trying to get one over the other. It just led to being jumped on along with anyone else who has tried to discuss anything with her - even when agreeing with her - has resulted in the other person being trampled over.

The competition has no benefit and much harm, but its not something that can just be walked out of.

She is IMO here to show her intellectual superiority and not to be right but to "win".

Backing off or being respectful will get her to try to stomp on you as she see's the people as cowering in fear of her. Sometimes you need to respond like for like.

I doubt you can consider what I learn to really be studying either. Besides, I have not held onto much apart from ideas and strtuctures which I can some times apply.

I should not be considered as a knowledged individual. just someone with a few ideas that some people at times find to be of use.
