Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
lol before i even opened this thread thats the picture i thought of first lol its pure genius and even has an fb group dedicated to it lol =D
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
when I saw that picture, one of my first thoughts was "x = 5".
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
but just to say x = 25 lol ...i think c squared = a squared = b squared
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
but x cant be 25 tho .... i think the sides may be labelled wrong or im using the wrong formulae
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
hmm no thats the right formulae for pythagorean theorem
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
you gave x squared. which is 25. X is not the same as x squared.
and no, I did not even remember that formula. I just saw it and instinctively thought 5. then feefs had to explain to me how I got to that and mentioned the formula.
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
hmm i still dont get it lol o well

Isn't it just 16 minus 9?
I'm hopeless at maths but even i can grasp pythagoras thingy x]

lol i nw the formulae its c squared = a squared + b squared
...erm im pretty hopeless at maths aswel got a B at gcse even then that was coz of weekend tuition lol

i think ur having problems with the formula.
A squared + B squared = C squared
THEN u find the square root of C squared - and thats your answer

ahhh ok find the squuaree route ...noooo wonder i kept getting the wrong answer lol
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
My maths teacher showed us this. The only person stupid enough to do that is someone who knows that they got almost every other question right.
The geek inside me wants to work this out:
x2(x squared)=4 squared+ 3 squared
x2= 16+9= 25
x= 5
Sorry I just love maths 😃

Nah, If they were clever enough to have that many Qs right, they'd try and get all the Qs right to have 100% or near enough. I think someone who knows they're gna fail would do something like that ^
Re: how NOT to pass your maths exam
i would think tht too
great minds think alike....;)
