The Awesomeness of God.

RI_RS โ€”

Ahahh, Breathe. This isn't a blasphemous topic.

It's about the awe..full...ness of God.

How often do you feel Awed by God?

How do you make a distinction between awe of other things and awe of God?

What makes you feel Awed by God?

What motivates you more; fear of God or awe of God?

If not by God, or along with God, what else awes you? Like the beauty of nature etc.

CGI like the destruction of HMS endeavour in POTC At Worlds End I thought was pretty awe inspiring.

A question - what made you ask this? what did you see (or not see) that gave you the idea of this topic?

I saw my exam question :p

"Explain the characteristics of a numinous experience"

That's just about Otto really but i thought about it in a wider sense... like all the times i've felt awed by God.

Even like by the snow... You know it's so beautiful a perfect pure white blanket that humans stomp all over and ruin... Isn't that like, an amazing metaphor of our disgracefulness? I felt that it really invoked humility in me. And just little things like that really... you can relate Anything, anything at all, to God. Imo x]

I like the title..I read it twice..the first time I read it as 'Awefullness' but my brain registered it as: 'Awesomeness'..but in my head I wasn't happy because Im sure my eyes didn't see what my brains registered. Then I read it again...and had to open the thread up of course. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yep..God (swt) is awesome. Harun Yahya has lots to say about the beauty of God's (swt) creation.

I think it is amazing how big tuna fish can get.

I had always assumed them to be small things, but they are not:

amazing.

Don't i have to deserve one though?
Who are you to decide if you deserve credit or not? eh? eh?
Well... I'm... the agent aren't I?

Besides, don't you have to explicitly make the intention before you do anything that you're doing it for God or else God won't recognise it as for Him?

You โ€” Wed, 20 Jan 2010 - 22:11

there are many levels of intention making.

*deep stuff*

/nods knowingly. or arrogantly - depending on how you see it.

some things are inherently good and you do not need an intention with them - like water will clean you, give you wudu (as long as the rights bits are washed), even if that was not the intention.

But will wudhu clean and purify you in the 'eyes' of God without the explicit intention? Or will it just clean you at the most basic surface level?

You โ€” Wed, 20 Jan 2010 - 22:30

Depends on what you mean by "'eyes' of God" - if you mean will the accidental purification be enough to allow you to pray, then yes.

If you mean does it deliver eternal salvation, maybe not and you may need to do more.

(am I the only one for who posts are a few times out of many randomly not posting? I hate having to re type afterwards as its never the same.)

That's why you should always save your work ๐Ÿ™‚

You โ€” Wed, 20 Jan 2010 - 22:42

but its the "saving" that is failing - hitting "save" is sometimes just refreshing that page, losing all entered text, instead of posting it to the site.

Thats right, God knows who you are harming.
If you hurt God's freinds in any way even in the least amount, He will some how get you. Wouldnt you?

If you are an agent for enemies of God, then there will be no reward for you except Hell. You dont have to believe me. But its coming. You will burn forever in the next life. So yes, you CAN decide if you receive O.B.E. or H.E.L.L.
