Guidance

Muslims are not required to actively recruit others to Islam. In the Qur'an, Allah told Muhammad that "You certainly cannot guide whomever you please; It is Allah who guides whom He will. He best knows those who accept guidance." (28:56). Muslims are expected to explain Islam to followers of other faiths, but it is up to Allah to guide those whom he wishes to.

that is guidance, as in "accepting guidance". That does not mean providing guidance is not required - all the verse is saying is after you have done your bit, the rest is not up to you.

as by Allah (swt) not guiding them - it is taking the overall view where Allah (swt) has power and control over all actions, but the individual does have choice.

(In other words, God can make people not "not accept" guidance... but that would go against free will.)

Could you elaborate on that please?

Im confused.

1) Can Allah (swt) affect your free will? (I know he can, but does he interfere with your choices?)

He/she doesn't have to die. If you look bakc at the ottoman empire, that was not the case... but then "revivalist movements" sprung up in order to "revive" the ummah, and trhey decided that yes, apostates needed to die.

(the quranic verse used for this says that if a person leaves Islam AND fights against the community... and the ahadith from the times of the prophet and the sahabahs where the death penalty was carried out... they are (genelrally? all?) from times of war.)
