I do not get why people like that annoying guy (Martin_Lawrence) - he has two modes: annoying and ultra annoying.

Nah, Martin Lawrence is good. Have you seen the first Bad Boys or Dark Knight? (I think that's what it's called and it's not Batman. It's about a modern-day stereotypical black American goes back to the magical world of Kings and jousts and dragons and whatnot; it's actually not that bad.)

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Seen them both. Not a fan of him. Annoying. really really annoying.

This should probably be in no topic. Night at the Museum made me laugh.

Watched the majority of this a few days/weeks ago and it was not my cup of tea. (never saw the starting, saw the ending.)

:O

How can you not like Night of the Museum?

There's so many funny things happening there. I watched it twice in one day. Biggrin

Anything with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson is good really.

Definitely watch Burn After Reading or Death At A Funeral Biggrin I love them.

Burn after reading was weird. The other one has "death" and "funeral" in the title... Yes, I do read a book by its cover.

It took me years to watch the whole 9 yards. Same with Firefly. who in their right mind would call a tv show "firefly"? is it a nature documentary? maybe about fireflies?

Did you like it though? Burn After Reading has to be one of my favourites, Coen brothers are genius.
Death at a Funeral is really quite funny if you give it a chance Biggrin

I enjoyed burn after reading, it was all slickly made etc, but it left me feeling a bit empty at the end. It didn't have the punch or bite that other Coen brothers films have.

Have you seen Raising Arizona with Nicolas Cage? That is my favourite of their films I think.

Best film of the year so far... BY far.

I watched it!!

It's VERY good! Biggrin

I watched it.

I don't know how I'll ever be able to eat prawns again.

Its not a film about aliens, its a film about humanity and the lack of it...and OMG did you see how close the blade was to his chest when he finally did the smart thing.

This is true about any half decent sci-fi. using an out of world sandbox to examine and analyse the human condition.

but district 9 is different. or at least it tackles issues which most sci-fis don't.

plus the main character is... oh, i don't want to ruin it for anyone!

but he's so dislikable, weedy and insecure at the beginning...

he's like an alternative view of 'the antihero'

and the way he swears is HI-larious

Is that the South African accent?

Dutch apparently.

I am quite sure that was South African? I remember some cricketers speaking like that...

Most surreal scene has to be:

MNU Agent: Stop shooting! Stop!
*he throws some cans at the aliens that look like grenades*
Deputy: Is that tear gas?
MNU Agent: No, its catfood.

lol.

it is indeed south african. it was supposed to be drawing parallels to the apartheid system.
