NO TOPIC - Part 4
Hi,
For those of you who may be new,
this is a NO TOPIC thread. Here were discuss nothing.
When we have nothing to say, we say it here.
In this thread we just relax and let everything out. This is your ideal place to talk about nothing. If something does not fit into any other catagory, then it will easily fit in here.
flies the falcon high discussing nothing
more pleasure when she's just messing
when the flower sings but says naught
thats when her smell has great clout

Confused...
I don't think i understand the question
what question? and yup, musa (as) is mentioned the most.
From the Qur'an, don't Muslims mostly Quote Prophet Muhammad (saww)?
nope, they quote God ๐
the sayings of the Prophet ๏ทบ are recorded in books of ahadith, sahih al bukhari, sahih muslim, sunan al tirmidi etc and muslims quote from them.

God isn't a prophet...
Re: NO TOPIC - Part 4
I am confused... can you please rephrase the question to something that I can comprehend.
("quoted" has more than one meaning in this context)
Re: NO TOPIC - Part 4
Not complicated.
Muhammad ๏ทบ is not mentioned specially very often in comparison to some of the other Prophets (as), but he gave us a lot of information as to the meaning in many ahadith. Also, Aisha (ra) described the character of the Prophet ๏ทบ as the embodiment of the Qur'an - i.e. it's lessons/messages can be seen perfectly in the life of the Prophet ๏ทบ
Musa (as) is the Prophet who is mentioned most often in the Qur'an. His life has many parts which make up different stories that appear throughout the Qur'an. As far as I know Ibrahim (as) and Yusuf (as) are the prophets who are mentioned next often.
'Isa (as) is the Prophet who is quoted most in the Qur'an. This means that his actual words/speech are recorded word-for-word more often than any other prophet.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is how I've always understood it.

Ok thanks. I misunderstood the question.
I thought it meant in Islam, which prophet is most quoted... as in like "The prophet Muhammad saww used to say..." like that.

Lovely. The style of your reply reminded me of my shaykh, the way you tied together the different answers and explained the context for each.

I watched "Sicko" earlier - the docu by Michael Moore on the American health system. Well, not all of it as the guy is way too preachy.
Guy needs to learn subtlety.
Re: NO TOPIC - Part 4
whyy isit thattt in islam it says your suposed to fast from sunrise rill sunset, and on the calendar it says sehri ends at 3 but sunrise is at 6? y a 3 hours gap?
Re: NO TOPIC - Part 4
fasting is not from sunrise but from "dawn", which is when fajr starts.
(qur'anic verse I think says to keep fast from when you can distinguish a black thread from a white one...)

err... he wants to make an impression on Americans.
Subtlety isn't exactly 'big' over there. Most things are big - buildings, cars, portions in restaurants - but subtlety isn't.

The perfect reply would be along the lines of "Surprised. I would have thought you to be 14!"

Re: NO TOPIC - Part 4
I had thought that I had forgotten one of the five pillars, but then I realised that was not it. I had forgotten how to count to five. :/
Re: NO TOPIC - Part 4
Not sure, but after about 45 minutes, I realised I had all five, so I must have been counting wrong...

I went to Sainsburys yesterday. In the "foods of the world" section, they had a Ramadan label next to all the Indian (subcontinent) spices and stuff. weird.
