Had a look on other fora and people are not sure if the unveiling was real or phony... It has surprised a lot of people because they thought it would be Ben Collins.

We'll find out next week - if they don't introduce a different stig, we can safely take their word for it. Maybe.

But I would have expected Schumacher to cost big bucks.

I think that's code for "it's not really him all this time".

Why would he want to do top gear? surely he's got better things to do.

I don't think it's him, It all seemed too fake.
It was just a joke, coz at the end they showed a clip of him in the car, and he was such a FAILURE!
It was just a stunt, so people watch the first episode.

Or that bit was fake.

As an example, during his interview he mentioned that he DOES drive family type cars etc, so him struggling as badly as he did was not really realistic - it was set up for comic effect.

Another theory out there is that there is no single Stig - all the companies send their own test drivers. The car in this episode? A Ferrari FXX. One Owned by Michael Schumacher... to he was the stig, but is not the Stig, if you get what I mean.
