The Apprentice 2009
In the past there have been a few people (not me) who watch this show, so may aswell start a topic on it.

Re: The Apprentice 2009

Debra is a cow
and a liar
she always pulls faces as well, n I find that reeeeaally annoying
Mona- I like her
James, bit of a whinger but I like him for some reason
Philip will go far, hes good
Nurul is useless
and full of himself
the woman from NY has an annoying voice n does nothing
Yasmina is alright- but I didnt like wen she said that she cant possibly be racist cos shes half iranian
wth
tha makes no sense
Re: The Apprentice 2009
I liked maj, but if he had any potential he didn't show it, he should have made himself shine. I think he should have been given a chance to be a team leader before being fired, James really should have gone last week, why's he still there?
He was too laid back in the boardroom he should have fought his corner like the pitbull Claire young. i.e That dude who is Alan's spy said maybe you're colleagues think you're not confident enough that's why they don't recommend you for major tasks. Instead of sighing he should have refuted those claims aggressively. He needed a bit of Ben in him. Ben will go far because he said he will take James down if he takes him in the boardroom he will not walk away quiet, Maj should have had this attitude in boardroom, and with colleagues when he felt they were giving him a raw deal on tasks.
I agree with 1r4m what is Nurul doing there, he seems like he does nothing at all except blowing his own trumpet about his own greatness? I've not seen any promising qualities in him, I reckon he will go next, with james hopefully.
Debra is a cow, and i really hated her at first, but actually what you see is what you get. She will on most occasions say what she feels to your face, apart from calling her colleagues puppets. But she has a foul mouth that she needs to get rid of. There's no need to be rude to get your point across, especially in the elite group of sales she wants to get into.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
i agree. this year has been pretty crap. i want yasmina or james to win, james is hilarious! can't wait for wednesday, love the interviews! they sure get a grilling.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
i used to feel sorry for Lorraine, like margaret said she was the "casandra" of the bunch, always right but always ignored. But she does have a really evil streak in her. Not long ago she was manager of a task, and she told yasmina, "im pitching because i'm the manager, and you have to do as i say." She wouldn't share pitching or actually admit Yasmina was better at pitching than her, she was on a power trip. I never saw that side to her before and i was shocked, made me think what else are we not seeing, what's edited out. I mean theres got to be a reason why all the housemates dislike her. IT can#t simply be based on her lack of looks as she as hinted to.
Plus come to my knowledge that Lorraine, dowdy as she may appear is a swinger. So although i should merit her on the skills she has at work, I just can't get this out my head, i can't wait for her to exit the programme.
Also she's jealous of kate who i think is overrated by male members in the house. She's not ugly but she is definately a dime in a dozen as far as asthetic looks go. Her beauty is nothing unique. Bottom line she wears a lot of slap, and the guys think she's the hottest in the house. Truth is debra, Mona and yasmina albeit with a stern look are more attractive physically. But no one wants to make a pass at them in case they get their fingers torn off. I mean what man or woman would want to cross Debra, she'd bite their fingers right off! Gotta love that girl lol
I want Yasmina to win it, and i thought howard was a strong contender he didn't deserve to be kicked off last week, lorraine should have gone. Debra close second. I think kate has a long way to go she thinks she is better than what she actually is, and it comes across in her attitude. But she has got a lot of strong skills.
James annoys me, i don't think hes strong enough to be a apprentice, and hes a little on the old side. If you've notice past apprentices have been the very young ones. so anyone who is i duno over 25 be aware, most likely they won't make it even if they are the best candidate.
So on the basis of age, passion and sales experience i think Debra has a strong chance of winning it. But i want yasmina to win.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
as if u just wrote something so long! lol
Re: The Apprentice 2009
Not watched teh show, but:

Most people experiences/go through a power trip the first few times they are allowed in charge - especially when previously their good ideas have been overlooked. It can make the individual see the flaws in others, but hide them from their ownself.
Can't hold that against a person if its a one off. It would be interesting to see (well, read about on here, since I do not watch the show...) if the same thing happens again if she gets a chance to lead/be in charge.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
true but it's not just a one off criticism. She also has this ability to bring negativity to every task. The other members complained about this but i could never see it on screen to believe it, maybe it was edited out for effect? Coz last week and week before i have seen this negativity. She will make good suggestions but they will be ignored, because i don't think she drums them in with full force, she gives in easily. But having given in rather than helping her collegues to fulfil the task the way they have all agreed, she keeps harking back, i told you so. We should have done xyz, my gut instinct told me, but did u listen?. Bottom line she should speak up with more authority hold up a fight to make sure ppl hear her, rather than giving in then harking on about it all throughout the task.
ps this years apprentice has been the dullest to date, if it continues like this i will abandon ship.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
Why? What's gonna happen?
Re: The Apprentice 2009
He's a salesperson who, while doing very well, let the golden goose work right on by. He could have been the Bill Gates of the world and if you measure him to that standard, he is a failure.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
How is Sir Alan a failure?
Re: The Apprentice 2009
He's not, but he is not perfect or the only embodiment of success.
He has done very well, but - not watching the show, so I may be wrong - I get the impression that the show is all about promoting people with good sales skills. Selling yourself, selling products.
That is a role that can be important in the world, but at the same time, if that skill did not exist, the world will still go on and products, people would be judged on better things such as technical excellence as opposed to marketing sheen.
I watched the show a few years ago and decided that it was trying to sell an idea that I did not want to buy into. Not only that, I probably despise being sold to.
Re: The Apprentice 2009
apprentice is going down hill. the interviews weren't all that, they didn't get a proper grilling. i wanted debra and yasmina to go head to head, don't like kate, too robotic! want yasmina to win!
Re: The Apprentice 2009
I watched it today for the first time.
And like Wednesday said, they pinpointed and criticized their CVs - that was really interesting to watch.

It wasn't too grilling?
Have the interviews been MORE grilling in the past?

'Unfair edit' in Apprentice show
Apprentice finalist Yasmina Siadatan has revealed that scenes broadcast on Wednesday's show were edited out of sequence, portraying her "unfairly".
The 27-year-old told BBC News she had "made a complete fool" of herself when grilled by Claude Litner as part of a series of interviews for the episode.
On the show, she seemed to tell fellow contestants it had gone well, but those comments came after another interview.
"They cut the wrong exit which was really, really unfair," said Siadatan.
"I've had an apology so that's fine," she added.
The BBC and the show's production company Talkback Thames were not immediately available to comment.
Speaking about her encounter with Sir Alan's former global trouble shooter, in which she was challenged over her business accounts, Siadatan said: "The whole thing went up tits up and I made a complete fool out of myself.
"I walked out and I said 'guys that was just terrible - that was a really really awful interview'."
Surprised
However, that sequence was never shown. Instead she was seen telling the four other candidates that the interview had been "very good"...

Re: The Apprentice 2009
shes got through and shez in the final now, no point complaining now love
Re: The Apprentice 2009
Wow i wasnt expecting that result IMO kate deserved it more than yasmina purely on basis of her consistent performance and the fact that yasmina already had a sucessful buisness ; especially in this economic climate aswel, o well gd luck to kate for the future
Re: The Apprentice 2009
yasmina deserved to win that. she was a good candidate from the begining. kate did really well aswell. bt not as good as yasmina
Re: The Apprentice 2009
I forgot all about the Apprentice. So Yasmina won.
Was it a really good ending?
Re: The Apprentice 2009
Sounds boring.
Why does he need a new apprentice every year anyway?
