As far as I am concerned there is no bigger taboo than exercise.
If I do it I would not want anyone to ever know, so that limits the options a little.
Anyone here an exercise junkie?
Don't you just find it... boring? and tedious?

What don't you want anyone to know?
I've just joined the gym, as long as you have music on it's not boring. Plus if you got to gym then you have other people in there so you tend to get competitive, which is good!
My mate sent me some exercises which I am gona start doing but still to read it to see what I need to do. It's good once you get into it.
its the whole taking antivanity to such extremes that it becomes just that - vanity.
Saying that I did start doing sit ups just over a month ago and managed to get to 80 (in three reps) but its been downhill from there. Do half now.

I havent become vain (yet!). I dont agree with that, its about feeling good about yourself for me its more about health and being able to fit into clothes! A lot of people say my weight is fine if not perfect but I dont care, I need to feel good and healthy. I would love to run for 5 mins without getting out of breath.
I love going to the gym its a good feeling, I'm a happier person
I don't like competing. It's unfair on everyone else.
If it makes you feel good, then I guess that is a goods thing, but what if you decide to go all anorexic?

I've never been one for regular exercise either but I have sticks that I swing around a la Blade and as well as toning the forearms its decent cardio. I also like doing VERY slow squats.

Well I have never been anorexic and inshallah it wont come to that stage, 3 years ago I was happy with my weight and I am aim to get to that again and it is healthy. I dont think clothes look good on anorexic ppl, I dnt want to look sick.
You dont want people to know? You do realise that they will eventually be able to tell... i mean if your loosing weight or toning up??? But i know what you mean. Just attend a Gym thats too far out for anyone you know or even care about would ever go.
Its not boring or tedious for me. Most of the time i tend to just switch off or start thinking about something else, and the time flies by with my head elsewhere whilst my body completes its work out.
Plus i have my ipod with me... music is a helpful distraction from exercise. So much so, that it becomes difficult to complete my workout without it.

To the two people that have mentioned music - its not really my thing.
I do listen to something occasionally, but never go out of my way for it and I can easily ignore sounds.

If I wanted to talk to them I would do it in real life!

Nah, they'd only be a distraction.
Just has to be me, the workout and my ipod... and sometimes im not even paying attention to that.

I sometimes spar in my room, use a punch bag (my big puffy jacket). But apart from that I do the weights and do a martial art.

Ooh! Which one?!
Don't just do something! Stand there.
Find some sort of physical activity that you enjoy. It ends being a form of tedious exercise, and begins being something you enjoy. Gyms arent for everyone. I get bored easily, and have tried almost all types of exercise, some Ive enjoyed more than others before moving on to something else  At the moment, Im going through a marathon running phase lol
May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.
wow, mashallah.
Will you be looking to sponsor some charity for some big event?

I dont listen to music much apart from nasheeds, but I dont listen to nasheeds when exercising. Like seraph said its a distraction, for me its a distraction from pain! I love going for walks but the weather doesnt allow it right now
exercise ie; gym, is a bit too vain imo
lots of walking (a 1 hr jog is immense), football and cricket does the trick. a spot of weekend tennis helps no end, you can rotate that with golf.

Why, thank you. I am honoured for creating it.
On the topic at hand, I did pull out 90%+ of the weeds growing in the back garden just now. I'll call that excercise. Enough for the next 6 months.

WOW what's happening to you? is this a new You we are seeing?
i exerice every morning, long weights session followed by 20 minute intensive jog. Very careful what i eat, have one day where i eat whatever i want otherwise i'm strict on myself. Started this to lose pregnancy weight. Almost reached my target, insha'Allah i will before Ramadan. I feel great, look great, and i'm healthier than ever before. Get's boring sometimes but i just try to motivate myself to stay on track. Truth is i have bags more energy when i exercise compared to the life i had before exercising regularly.
i did lose 1/2 a stone in two weeks so i ain't looking back, exercise for life i won't be giving it up. I may be doing different forms but i won't ditch it completely. When i get a bigger house i'll get more equipment, right now no room for anything else.
Its also a great stress and temper buster.
